Khan will be calling Cam and Highsmith tomorrow about contract restructuring. If he hasn't already.

I am hoping we sign Williams or Odell to replace DJ at the #2 spot.

Williams will be more expensive and want a longer contract than Odell, as I believe we can get Odell on a Rusell Wilson team friendly 1 year deal.

I don't think either Odell or Williams are #2 receivers at this point, their #2 receiver will most likely come from the draft, or Khan trades for one.

I believe Cam would have to have an extension since he’s in his last year?

Williams is a talent when he's on the field. He's had a history of dings, culminating with his torn ACL last year.

Not saying I wouldn't give him a look, but I don't know that I'd want to get in a bidding war. The contract he signed with the Chargers in 2022 was a 3yr/$60M deal with $41M guaranteed. He's likely going to have to step down from there, but then again guys like Darnell Mooney and Gabe Davis inked deals this offseason with $13M AAVs.

The Jets are currently about $20.9M under the cap, the Panthers $18.2M.

When I think of Mike Williams I remember the game in 2021 in which the Steelers were trailing 34-10 in the beginning of the fourth quarter. Ben went wild in the fourth and we took a 37-34 lead late in the game but Herbert hit Mike Williams running free up the left sidelines for around a 70 yard TD to win the game 41-37.

Injuries piling up for this guy. Good production when he is on the field though. How good will he be coming off that ACL? Good thing about it is it was early in the season.

Void Years....Boooo.. There is no reason to let Cam screw the Steelers over in 2025 with a ton of dead cap money.

See Ben's last year contract. $5 million Pay Cut.

Is Williams still technically injured, would he be ready week 1?

I did a search on available free agents… I was surprised to see Michael Gallup is available? Gallup has speed for the outside #2.

    what do you think?

… DJ Chark could be an outside guy.

His ACL is healing on schedule and folks are right to point that out, as it seems some take an additional year to rebuild confidence in the knee.
But if he's 100%, the 6'4" WR can stretch the field.
    He is 29.

Supposedly, we've been negotiating with Tyler Boyd as are the Chiefs. I'm not so sure of that anymore.
They do need an experienced WR that can stretch the field and give Russell Wilson those deep shots he's known to take.

Gallup was a good player earlier in his career, but his production fell off a cliff the last three seasons.

I think Boyd is a better fit for what they need, but I get the feeling that his contract demands are out of whack with what the Steelers are willing to spend.

They need another guy who can go down the field, but they also need that receiver who can make plays underneath. Hunter Renfrow would be a good fit.

Ugh, thanks for bringing that up. Didn’t we also play the Vikings right around that time? Falling way behind, but making a furious comeback again, just to fall short? I think Muth may have dropped a TD in the last seconds.

Yes that's the game that Chase Claypool caught a first down with around 30 seconds left on a running clock. He then proceeded to run towards the sidelines and do a dance while 14 seconds ran off the clock. The Steelers just had time for one more play and Ben threw a dart to Muth in the end zone but he couldn't hold onto it.
