STEELERS QB SITUATION FUN FACT

This is the first time since 1957 that Pittsburgh has not returned any of its quarterbacks from the previous season.

 

When you think of it, when was the last time a team got rid of all 3 qbs in the same offseason?

 

The AFC North just got a whole lot more interesting after the Pittsburgh Steelers signed free agent quarterback Russell Wilson. While they somehow managed to still make the playoffs with third-string quarterback Mason Rudolph under center, having a veteran winner like Wilson makes them a real contender.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson welcomed his counterpart to the division with a bit of a warning to him.

“Welcome to the AFC North, where things can get real spooky,” Watson said on the March 15 episode of his QB Unplugged podcast.

And now our new starting QB is thrown into a scary situation Did Watson feel scared sitting in the stands after injury instead of with his teammates? I so hope Wilson scares the crap out of Browns twice!!

 

Is that also the last time we traded for an ex champion Qb? Who also threw a tantrum by cursing his former team? Lol

My very first game he was our QB. Very young, Forbes Field. Didn't know what the hell was going on. As I got into the Steelers and the NFL I learned he was great but with the wrong team.

 

There are only two QB’s in the league that each have a combined 100 or more sacks / INTS over the past two seasons

likely none, but the time span of the post had me thinking. We let quite a few QB's walk in the late 50's, who went on to be stars in the AFL or NFL, se the steelers could have been one of those teams, lol.

In 1956 the Steelers QB's were Ted Marchibroda and Jack Scarbath. They were both unloaded after the season and 3 new QB's were brought in for 1957, Len Dawson, Earl Morral and Jack Kemp. All 3 went onto win championships but unfortunately not with the Steelers.

I have a popeyes right behind my house

 

Our closest one is 25 miles away so we don't go there that often. We do have a Chik Fil A close by but my wife doesn't like their chicken.

You must live in a city. I live in a rural area our closest "town" is Grove City around 3 miles away. It's population is around 4,000. So that is going to "town" for us.

Back in the day our “town” had a train station gas station general store post office and hotel

Here's another fun fact...... Pittsburgh is paying its backup quarterback almost three times the salary that it's paying it's starting quarterback......lol
