No, it's not that QB doesn't matter (or help you win for that matter), its just that its a team stat. Bad QB's on a good team can still win games, and good QB's with bad teams can still lose a good deal of games too.

 

Can't wait for the Wilson sucks and Fields sucks threads this upcoming season.

 

This team is better than last year's, that's what matters. Sure, there are other holes.... We still have players to add in FA and the draft, do we not?

Kenny Mason and Mitch combined for 13 last year

Fields alone had 16

Russell had 26

That is a tremendous increase in production

The quarterback room is way way better than last year

I repeated this since a few people fid not comprehend it the first time

The Bears apparently turned down a better offer because they wanted to do right by Fields and not trade him to a team that already had an established starter and where he would have more opportunity in the future. Could that have been the Eagles? Then the Steelers trade Pickett to the Eagles, a team with a young, firmly entrenched starter where he will have virtually no opportunity to start barring something unexpected, lol.

I like the Russell Wilson acquisition. Not a fan of Justin Fields acquisition. Strange Days indeed.

How is the Wilson vs Fields dynamic gonna work out? Fields has been pretty terrible for Bears, but if Wilson struggles, I can see popcorn installing Fields.

Let us hope Smith's offense is good and Wilson is set up to succeed.

i can see they didn't want to trade fields to a team with an entrenched starter like philly with kenny there. he was named starter here, so. makes sense.

i do believe that this is what tomlin always wanted his offense to be a black running qb offense to mimic lamar and to an extent the butt hole in cleveland. i do believe colbert stood in the way of that with his preference of a pocket style passer. now colbert's gone. not sure how smiths offense fits this. we should see a great deal of runs by backs and qb's in the coming season. i would not be suprised by us picking up a guy like tyler huntley as well as our 3rd if the price is right or we draft that kid from Tennessee. just my feelngs on it. i think tomlin wanted willis and was overruled by colbert at the time. conspiracy theory. there i said it. let the attacks begin. this isn't meant to be racist by any means just MT's preference. we shall see how it all turns out.
