Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat.

I`m ok with this because Fields is the backup. QB room quite improved IMO.

So fields has the same numbers as Mason, with less pocket presence. So he’s like a younger Wilson (mobile) but bigger and with less ability to read defenses. Short term it’s an overall improvement in the QB room but long term, a lot of uncertainty

Wilson had 26 TD passes in 2023, the Steelers as a team had like 13 TD passes.

It’s remarkable in that we’ve never seen a flurry of activity like this in an off-season for the Steelers. But let’s not crown Omar an all-time genius GM just yet. We’ll know in 2-3 years whether or not these moves have had the desired results. Sometimes the initial euphoria of a splash move (or splash moves) is obliterated by reality once the games begin. I think the moves themselves have been pretty brilliant given the overall risk/reward and cost efficiency. We’ll see whether or not the results on the field are brilliant. I’m hopeful they will be.

wouldn't that mean our team wins more with our qbs formerly than the two new one win with their team?

I guess all the win s Tom Brady had were because of the other players on those teams. I see so a qb doesn't matter as long as the rest of the team is good.

are you forgetting we had a rookie last year that tremendously helped our offense, oh and we had one on defense as well. Along with several free agents at LB, in fact all new lb group.

Time will tell, but my guess is this is a perfect situation for Fields where he can sit a year and prove himself next year.

I guess it all really comes down to Justin. I have a feeling he's going to take this a lot more professionally than Pickett did.

Because of their age and resume difference, i have a hunch that Fields will be ok with #2 for now.

I skimmed through some pages, so this has probably already been answered. But the fifth-year option is still in play. The Steelers will have until May 2 to pick it up, whereupon Fields' salary in 2024/25 becomes guaranteed - the latter for $25.7M, per OTC.

I think the hope that anyone pick up his option became bleak once the market showed little interest in trading for him. If the reports on his role being having already been defined as the backup are true, the Steelers aren't going to be going there either.

If you'd asked me prior to Wilson being in the picture I would say the team likely had engaged in extension talks with him ahead of acquiring him. But with Wilson also under contract for one year, my guess is they take a wait and see approach unless Khan was shrewd enough to convince Fields to sign an extension for backup money.

Khan needs a nickname after all he has done.

    Casino Khan?

    Ragin` Khan?

    Trader Khan?

    Stealer Khan?

    Con-man Khan?

You are grossly misinterpreting what 'round 1' QB means when you compare the 2 different years. The QB draft class when Kenny was picked was weak.

Any other draft, Kenny is a 3rd round pick.

If that's your pick-up line with the ladies it explains some things.

But still yet you don’t acknowledge the fact that we had a Defense that kept us in the games.

Or the fact 3-QB’s combined for only 13 touchdowns. 78 points in 18 games. That’s a whopping 4.3 ppg.

787 pass att.for mason and kenny. 13 tds.

Wilson and fields 1598 att. 26 TDs.

Double mason and kenny pass att. If they threw that much the tds by state would be even. Let that sink in for a minute.

That was my second thought. My first was to wonder how Khan got him so cheap. Bears GM Ryan Poles really should lose Khan's number. He just keeps getting ripped off. I don't even like Fields and I think that was a terrible return for the Bears.

I'm not so certain that there is a plan past Wilson. Unless they pick up the fifth-year option on Fields, which is about $25 million, they are both free agents after this season.

We can only play one of the qbs at a time. If Fields sees significant playing time, it means that Wilson is a dud or hurt.Either situation does not bode well for the Steelers record.

I notice you glossed over the other holes. Until those are fixed, the Steelers are at best the 3rd best team in the AFC North, and most likely the worst.

Or it's because Wilson got hurt and they don't have a choice.

Dulac has completely lost it. His credibility is completely shot.

Give credit where it is due. Kobaly predicted this after the Pickett trade.

They could, but if one of them puts up big numbers, that could get very expensive.

If Fields is such a better qb than Pickett then why was his trade value better?
I have no problem with saying Pickett is a failure. Replacing him with Fields and Wilson is my question. Signing Jacoby Brisset and keeping KP would have been the much better option.

I confess that I am finding harder and harder to support the Steelers. From fans who think Wilson and Fields are going to be elite qbs to tolerating a mediocre, egoist coach to finding excitement in a GM who could soon be challenging Ron Hextall for the mantel of worst GM in Pittsburgh, there is little joy in following this team.

What are you yinzers going to do when we fail to win a playoff game next year or worse fail to make the playoffs?

We gave Chicago Jim Miller and Kordell Stewart. Karma demands we return the favor with Mitch and Fields.
