I think it'll be hard to keep fields on the bench once coaches see his ability in camp.

Disagree, those are totals, and not per play or snap analysis. Mason played only in 4 season games. His production is roughly equal to Russ. Mind you, Russ is on the decline side of career and Mason is not.
I agree that Fields is better than Kenny, but still garbage, not as bad a Kenny, but bad enough to be fired, so it is a wash, both guys suck.

Seems to me the Bears realized there wasn't much of a market for Fields as they originally thought. They were asking the Eagles for too much in return. The deal fell through and they settled for what we offered. A few weeks ago the rumor was they wanted multiple picks, possibly a 2nd rd pick.

If Bears wanted much more then why did Bears trade to the Steelers for only a 6th round pick then?

The negative posts aren’t even phasing me, I’m stoked.

Add some top of the line receivers, finish building the line and this team is in the thick of it next post season.

Wilson has his flaws, but his red zone stats were solid.

We have a history of success with OSU Buckeyes...love sniping players out of Ohio, right under the nose of the Brownies and the Bungles.

As I mentioned above, and I'm just speculating, but seems to me the Bears probably realized that there wasn't as much of a market for Fields as they originally thought. 11 QBs were just signed in FA. The Bears overplayed their hand here hoping for much more.

They were asking the Eagles for too much in return. The deal fell through and the Eagles reached out on Pickett and gave up a 3rd and the two 7ths. So I wonder what the asking price to the Eagles was on Fields, obviously steeper than what they gave up for Pickett . A few weeks ago the rumor was that Chicago wanted multiple picks, possibly a 2nd rd pick.

When my sons messaged me yesterday that Pickett had been traded, this was my response…

After further review, I am liking this deal. Basically gave up nothing, absolutely nothing and the qb room on paper is definitely better than last years. Go Steelers!

We essentially went from a QB room of 3 backup QBs to a room of 2 starting QBs. Having a guy like Fields run the practice squad Offense while learning from Wilson will not only make him better but also make the D better aswell I think. If there is an injury to Wilson, the season isn't totally shot...like it was handing the keys over to Mitch "throw into triple coverage" Trubisky.

Browns and Bungles could care less about Steelers sniping players out of Ohio if they are busts

I am lost: Mason played in 4 games and had 3 TDs, while Russ played in 15 games and had 29 TDs. Not sure how this is roughly equal to Russ???

Someone to snap the ball would be nice

I can’t believe Omar is just hoping we get a rookie in the draft and plug him in

There has to be more to this

Wow, what a turnaround in the QB dept. Didn't see this coming, but glad to see the change.

I believed (and hoped) we would get one or the other, but I never envisioned getting both. It boggles my mind that there are people on here who think that Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph are better quarterback options than Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
