Marvin Harrison may be more conplete overall and Malik has a Route Tree with electrifying capability but Odunze has both beat in combat catching. Take everything you love about Pickens ability to high point the ball, crank it up to 11 and remove the Character issues.


He would fit well in both the WR Corps in dirw need of leadership and a new WR Coach in Zach Azzani who needs a good student to show the others the benefits of hard work.

I have the joy of experiencing an Achilles tear actually. Got the injury from overuse trying to sprint. Anyways the thing took like 9-10 months to heal doing the best I could without the use of all the trainers and equipment these guys have.

Dude can flat out play. In the event he somehow, someway falls to Seattle... I would hope Kahn is working that phone. With Pickens, Pittsburgh would field two pass catchers who are nigh impossible to contest at the catch point.

 

His 2023 Season was the first time he played a full season since his rookie year. Between 2019 to 2022 though, a lot of knicks; all leading up to an achilles tear in 2022. That said, he does add one massive thing to this defense; speed... and lots of it.

Carolina probably dug his name out of their garbage can when the Steelers called asking what they could trade for DJ. Most reports were that Carolina was going to release Jackson before March 16th.

Both DJs are on the last year of their contracts, both were probably going to be cut by their respective teams. Johnson is due a roster bonus of several mil, which Carolina will now pay. I don’t see his frustrations becoming less with the kind of QB play that will be occurring in Carolina.
Jackson came back after a significant injury, but is certainly not any all pro.

I don’t think this move is really as significant as some of us would think. Omar saved some lucre and got rid of a malcontent. Hopefully they will snag a good wide receiver in the draft. I could see them moving up to do so.

I sorta knew this trade was being talked about. (I didn't get a chance to elaborate on this as I lost my brother yesterday to cancer)
I'm glad it happened. As I've stated a few times, DJ is not helping the QB situation nor is he a good team player.

It gets DJ a new start away from the mess he created.
And it helps us in getting the right person in here that does help.

I look at the CB and see him as 'just a name' but can fill in as decent depth and occasional starter.
Maybe he can find his form back? And challenge starters.

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh now has to find probably 2 good WR's.

Curtis Samuel would be a good slot receiver and he's good at running the ball too. So you have some options with him in the system.

Tyler Boyd could be another option.

I would like to see them get 1 out of FA..
