We can tell which reporter was listening to Rudolph's agent from that one.

It’s on more than one report. There is also report that Steelers are trying to bring him back. Could it be that they are trying to trade away Pickett and sign Mason, but they have no takers for Pickett. Lot’s of possibilities and speculations.

well, WHO would want Pickett really and for WHAT?

I'd take a 4 or 5 for him, I am sure Khan would too.

    Then re-sign Mason.

    it is easy.....

Kenny would fetch a 6th round pick, the same as Mack Jones.

I've heard of nothing... the Vikings queried. Nothing since.

Mason doesn't know Smith's offense (really though, QB's know them, they just have to adjust to the language and how it is ran)
I can't see Mason coming here unless there's no other option.

Putting his limited accomplishments in the proper context is not ****ting on him. I'm not impressed by anonymous sources, especially when agents and teams are using the media to put so much misinformation out there.

There is nothing out there to support the notion that they are trying to trade Pickett, which would make no sense. At worst, they have Wilson's backup on a rookie deal. If they really had that much faith in Rudolph, they wouldn't have let him hit free agency for the second consecutive season.

Omar Khan pretty much indicated that they tried to sign him and it was Mason’s idea to test free agency. Who can blame Mason.

So let me get this straight....if Pat Mahomes was cleared to play after 6 weeks for playoffs, Andy Reid would have went with Henne. Right . Your a pom pom cheerleader for a lousy qb. Stats dont lie, KP is just not accurate and injury prone. Not a good combo for a nfl team and reason we signed a better qb for pennies on dollar.

 dunno...maybe Mason kicked his dog. Whatever the case, he has an obvious bias against Rudolph for some reason or another.

I heard we couldn’t sign Mason to a $100 million contract because we needed the cap space to sign Russell Wilson

I think it's a bit more than that. I've never said that Rudolph morphed into Tom Brady, but it is FACTUAL that he led the league in QBR the last few games of the season. He was much more effective at running the offense than either Pickett or Trubisky had been as is evidenced by the results. Again, that doesn't make him All-Pro all of a sudden and a first ballot HOFer, but give the guy some credit. Rudolph was the primary (not the only) reason that we made the playoffs and Tomlin can thank him for keeping his non-losing season intact.

Anyway, this debate has gone on long enough so I'm finished. Rudolph is gone. Pickett is staying. Wilson will be our starter next season.

I'm not sure why people seem to think teams would be jumping at Mason. He's a very average backup QB. He threw for 700 yards in 3 games with 3 TDs and 0 INTs. He played decently, but wasn't anything special. The fact is was SO much better than Kenny and Mitch made him feel WAY better than he is. He is a career backup who can step in when needed but is not going to carry a team for a whole season.

2 more bad Quarterback's got jobs today, Marcus Mariota and Drew Lock. I hope for Mason's sake that the Cowboys are telling him that as soon as they can unload Trey Lance that they will sign him because the teams that need a backup are disappearing quickly.

This was before they signed Wilson. They tried to keep Rudolph to compete with Pickett for the job. Try to keep up.

So you admit that they tried to keep him from hitting free agency. You made a blanket statement that Steelers didn’t try to retain him and are only now adding the caveat ‘after signing Russell’. Typical of you to be misleading and put up strawmen. The reports are that they still want to sign Mason. Surely they must know that there is no way Mason will be a third string guy as he will get offers to be a back up. They is definitely a chance they will move Pickett as he publicly was unhappy being a backup, and he will be a back up to Russell. Teams want their back ups, not to cause turmoil. Pickett is not only shown that he’s a terrible starter by his stats, but can also be a terrible backup by his statements etc. Steelers would have never indicated that they are still trying to sign Mason if they had total faith in your boy.
