As much as I want Rattler, I will be shocked if he is there by then. Way too much overall talent that he possess to last that long.

I haven't seen this kind of passion in Steelers fans regarding QB since the Stewart vs Maddox days.

 

In fifteen games last year, Russell Wilson had more passing touchdowns than the entire Steelers team has had in the last two seasons. He is definitely better than Kenny Pickett. This is a great, no-risk signing. Even average quarterback play would be a big upgrade over what we have seen since Ben left.

 

There is some truth to your statement. Players can win or lose. However, if the guy making the play calls sets up the team to be completely transparent about what they're doing, that's not on the players. There's plenty of players from other teams that have come out and said post Canada that they were easily able to tell who was getting the ball and where it was going on a lot of plays because Canada was so transparent. That's not the players, that's the OC.

I don't see guys like Rattler and Milton being any better than Pickett.

hes long gone and he’s still causing all this mischaracterization of our young Qb on this board. Even the Steelers management seems snake bitten by the Canada effect. They go out and get a has been that no one else wants cause they don’t trust their young Qb. I hope it works out but this move doesn’t quite feel right

 

Kenny boy needed competition and Wilson provides that. Either he'll improve or Wilson will take his job.

Also from a mental standpoint there's a big difference in being signed to a massive contract for a team and being expected to drag them to the playoffs, vs joining a playoff roster where they're not paying you jack. It should feel to Wilson like a Jedi mind trick where all that pressure is gone, and maybe the Steelers benefit.

But all that aside the book on Wilson is contain him in the pocket and win. As he's aged that has not changed, which is his problem and why he's limping into Pittsburgh in his beat up Lamborgini. He's not a leader. Has a weird personality which is why the Seattle locker room was always cool on him. So I think if Tomlin plays this right he stands to make out on it.

Playing it right, in my book, would be to not set Wilson up as the face of the franchise and all that. Treat him like he's got to prove himself just like Kenny. Tell your OC to treat them both like they're 5th round draft picks and let them simmer in that **** through camp. Hope being one of them will man up and take that job.

 

I would’ve hated picking up Russell Wilson if they had to actually pay for him but since we basically stole him now I’m like a kid on Christmas Eve.
