    You’re looking at it from what you want and not the Steelers standpoint.

    Wilson playing for only 1.2 million gives the Steelers complete freedom to do what they want and if after camp and preseason they like what they have seen from Pickett then why wouldn’t they see what he can do? Wilson is not a long term solution. If you are going to give up on a 1st rd pick after just 2 seasons it should be for a QB that can play for many years.

    I still don't believe it, I watched KP all his Pitt years never heard anything
    About being a bad teammate, I am sure he is pissed, he is a competitor
    wants to play. Work hard make them notice your work.

    There’s an illusion of competition for PR sake that may even carry into the start of preseason, but barring injury Wilson will open the regular season as the starting QB. Even if KP looks good in the preseason it shouldn’t matter. We saw how much that meant after last summer.

    Let’s not forget he got us to the playoffs. Why not start him. He can take a hit, has a good arm and pretty accurate. He knows the system. The hell with the other teams give him a good contract and turn him loose.

    But again, not with a real OC.

    If they were getting Wilson of 5 years ago I’d agree he is starting no questions asked. This version of Wilson Im not so sure.

    I don’t even see how he fits Smiths offense. All Wilsons passes last year were within 5 yards of the LOS or behind it and no MOF. We just fired a guy for running that offense. Smiths offense is more vertical and MOF. Outside of the deep ball that Wilson is still great at, he doesnt fit.

    I heard twice today about Rudolph possibly going to the Vikings during the NFL Network's "Free Agent Frenzy" show. The Vikings are kind of screwed with Cousins leaving and the big 3 draft QB's will be long off the board when they pick. They can either sign someone like Mason Rudolph or Sam Darnold or take a gamble and over draft a QB like Penix or Bo Nix.

    Im not a Wilson fanboy quite frankly I only think he is marginally better than KP. I’m just telling you what is reality. He didn’t sign here at this stage of his career to backup KP.

    Correct, he is a 9 time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion. He didn't agree to come here and hold a clipboard behind Kenny Pickett.
