Cousins got a good deal... Minny drove up the price. It will be interesting.

 

I am not sure Fields will be a starter in week 1 next season right now....

I would be very surprise if Fields is traded in Minnesota(NFC north rival)

 

I believe Chicago desperately wants Williams and very much doubt they want Fields in their division. After today, if Chi, Wash and NE take QBs 1-3, how many teams still need a QB? Something like Giants, Vikings, Raiders, Broncos and maybe Saints. So 4 or 5 teams. I think the Titans like Levis. Also, if someone like NE trades back, they just become a team in need of a QB instead of whomever they trade with. Worse yet for Chicago, I think you see three of those 4-5 teams in need take McCarthy, Penix and Nix pretty high. As in, all three are gone no later than round 2. McCarthy is going round 1 easily and it's not impossible they all do.

Giants pick 6th and then this:
11) Minnesota Vikings
12) Denver Broncos
13) Las Vegas Raiders
14) New Orleans Saints

The teams that draft QBs are only going to want vet, placeholder QBs at most, so that leaves 1 or 2 teams looking for a potential starter. Fields is not great, costs draft capital and gets expensive next year. After that are a bunch of backup types like Rudolph, Tannehill, Minshew and Brissett. Wash likely keeps Howell as short term starter and/or backup. Then it gets really bad with crap like Winston, Darnold, Daniel Jones, Zach Wilson, Flacco, etc.

So... guessing something like a 4th rounder puts Fields in, I dunno, New Orleans? Maybe NE if they trade back from 3rd overall.

 

I saw a mock draft a month or so ago that had NE trading back from 3 for Fields and the 10th pick. Guess that ain't going to happen.
