Didn't the Skins have 2 high draft picks at QB on their roster a while back?

I still think there will be a competition opportunity for Kenny if he is up for the task

I even suspect Kenny will run the first set of series in preseason

After that let the best man win

Had Shuler/Ferotte then RGIII/Cousins... the second guy in both scenarios was latter round,
Washington was a QB killing machine from 99 till present day.
I don't know if they will get better now, I am waiting to see proof as they are definitely going to get one with the 2nd pick.

Like Lou Holtz used to say, adversity will either make you bitter or better. I hope it makes Kenny better but given his attitude (perceived or real) at the end of last season when he refused to acknowledge the fact that he'd been benched for Rudolph and said that he would have been the starter if the coaches felt he was ready, I wonder about his mental fortitude.

Erik Armstead could not come to terms with SF
Wonder if that will effect Cam Heyward negotiations?

He wasn't benched for Rudolph. They stuck with the hot hand over a guy who had been out for six weeks. That you don't like that narrative doesn't make it any less true.

He was benched for Rudolph. They stuck with the hot hand over a guy who had been out for six weeks (and had been largely ineffective for the better part of two seasons). That you don't like that narrative doesn't make it any less true.

    Definition of benched...
withdraw (a sports player) from play; substitute. (source Oxford Languages on-line dictionary)

Pickett was withdrawn from play initially because he was injured. When he was healthy enough to play he was then withdrawn from play because the quarterback who replaced him (Rudolph) was more effective than Kenny had been for two seasons.

I.e. Kenny was benched for Mason Rudolph.

I realize that there were reasons that Kenny found himself on the bench (injury initially and then the QB who was playing had the hot hand and outplayed Pickett) just like there were reasons that Mason found himself on the bench when Duck was brought in (ineffective play the game after he was bludgeoned with a helmet and his character was assassinated and a few short weeks after he'd sustained a knockout concussion). So I admit that in the technical sense, Mason was benched for Duck. There are those who readily accept that but who refuse to accept the fact that Kenny was benched for Mason.

It don't mean much right now...He could be traded but Lamar Jackson and Jonathan Taylor did the same thing last offseason and they still had a new contract with their team after that

Keeping in mind that the Broncos let Wilson go and that he was sitting the bench the last two,he has to be considered a backup. Same with Kenny no matter how it's spun. He was sitting the bench to end the season. At this point in time it looks like Steelers 2024 will be a battle of backups for their starting job. Not an enviable position to be in,but let's raise a glass in hopes that the position ends up being something more than serviceable.Bargain basement price for a year of Wilson looks to be the best part of it.

The depth chart said different. The coaches said different. Logic and reason said different. It wasn't a choice between both guys at 100 percent. It was a choice between Rudolph at 100 percent after playing the previous two and three games or Pickett just a few weeks removed from surgery with six weeks of rust on him. I'm sorry you still don't understand that.

Payton clearly had a problem with Wilson. It showed in the way he got in Wilson's face on the sideline and in how they ran him out of town in Denver.
