The signing is a good deal for the steelers. He is cheap and is much better than Kenny Pickett. Russ had 26 touchdowns compared to Kenny P 6. If he fails, we bottom out and draft a real high qb next year. If Russ is good, the team has a chance to win a playoff game. No lose situation.

 

I suspect that was discussed in depth with Wilson by Tomlin and Smith

This is funny to see some steelers reporter(Kaboly,Dulac) be so sad to have been wrong about that but Dulac continues to be arrogant like crazy thinking he knows everything even if he knows nothing about the steelers!

 

Pickett could show the potential the team believes he has although I’m pessimistic there

Wilson could play well and be resigned it’s not like we have a lot of money tied up in the QB position

 

It just shows they don't have the commitment it would take to fix Pickett, and he does need to be fixed. I imagine if that ever happens, it will be elsewhere.

I don't believe Wilson signed with Steelers to be a backup. If there's a fair competition for QB1 in preseason games... the edge goes to Wilson.

 

Trubisky couldn't put up stats like Wilson did in 2023 26 TDs and only 8 interceptions.

As for what Pickett thinks of the Wilson signing...I'm sure he absolutely loves it!
