Mitch Morse is 31 and the Bills are getting younger as well. Nate Herbig can man the center spot until the rook is ready. Or they sign him as a back up to start until a rook is ready.

I am counting heavy on the play action. I heard Wilson had 11 TD, 1 INT out of play action (110 rating). But yeah, too small to see the middle. Deep or LOS.

Not elite QB play, but quality? We shall see.

Art II, Khan and Popcorn all gave an endorsement for Pickett. So its kind of a slap.

Wonder if Author Smith threw a wrench in there as well.

Wilson is not the be all end all to get this team over the hump.

I think it says that going into his 3rd year they don’t believe in him. What else could it say? Russ isn’t coming here to be a backup.

The cost is certainly worth the dice roll and I think he is better than KP although that’s not saying much.

If I can't draft a Center, I do not want a stop gap.
There a 5 quality Centers on the market. I think I saw someone is signing Conner Williams (26) who would be a good one.
I do agree, the preferred method would be go with youth and I like the idea of a rookie contract.
But it is a need.. hopefully it gets addressed, I'm not going to be a stickler on how.

He’s a huge upgrade over an unproven Kenny Pickett and maybe Kenny will learn from him. What this signing does is no longer make us terribly weak on offense as we were just 6 months ago. The Steelers can now focus on OL, CB and ILB as positions of need in the draft. They can also draft a late round punter to replace mister shankoholic even though that would have happened anyways.

I'm not a fan of this signing. First, Russ is better than Pickett, significantly, and so is Mason. Mason's four games are comparable to where Russ' production last year, which is good.
The only thing right now Russ has going for him over Mason is the cost, at $1.2 million one year he is less of an obligation than Mason would be.
I am not a fan of that contract, I do not believe in underpaying, or overpaying. Got pay fairly. I do not believe in rolling the dice for one year either. Gotta a have "qb window" plan, at all times. And this is not it on one year deal.
    Not a fan.

It says the same thing about their thoughts on Mason as a starter. If this deal happens, some esteemed members of this board can finally stop arguing about whether the Steelers have any real faith in Pickett OR Rudolph to be the starter going into next season.

I thought it was about what Pickett thinks of the Wilson signing?

The Iowa Punter. METALMAN_68 would know. Some mocks have us taking him in the 6th or 7th.

I personally like the signing. All I really care is what’s best for the Steelers and what gives us the better chance at getting number seven.

Well. I didn’t click on it, so
My point was the premise of the thread was Pickett’s thoughts on the Steelers signing Russell Wilson. As opposed to what the Steelers thought about picket.

No one is underpaid or overpaid in this scenario when it comes to the Steelers. Not sure where you are going with this? Steelers had 1 QB on the roster...they added someone better and cheaper than Mason (Russ is better than Mason...say it with me). Low risk and high reward. OK to not like Russ...but from a football standpoint, it has potential to be a good move. Kenny has every opportunity to be the QB the Steelers drafted him to be. He just needs to step up. Kenny is in your so called "QB window"....just stained glass to date.

In other news, the trade market for Justin Fields is now a 7th rounder in 2026 and a ham sandwich.

Oh, and we play in Denver this year. Think that's going to be a Thursday/Sunday Night/Monday game.
