We already have a team first problem going on in our locker room. I truly believe these
    players don't like their teammates.

Well, he’s definitely not my choice for the Steelers’ 2024 QB, but I do think that his skill set (at least as it was a few years ago) is a much better fit for Arthur Smith’s offensive scheme than he was for Payton’s. I’d still rather not go there though.

Except that Smiths offense from what I have read employs a lot of the MOF and Wilson isn’t good at it. I didn’t know if that was play calling or Wilson but enough people in the know have said thats not what Wilson is good at.

No that is not what he wrote

    He did write

“But Wilson wouldn’t agree to come here if, at the very least, he wasn’t given the promise to compete for the starting position.”

    Nah,
All it takes is the ability to know when you’re reading an opinion or a factual news report.

Serious question, does the team look like they are having fun?
Do they care about each other, looking out for what is best for team?

Hard to have fun when you are a bottom 5 offense with poor OC and QB play like the steelers had in the last few years...I hope it will change,we will see

    Yes

    For the most part

Especially towards the end of the season

Certainly some discontent between the offense and Canada but I anticipate more reception to the new guy

D J and Chucs being the exceptions and so far half that problem has been corrected

Looking more and more like they really did want him as a backup.

I think a lot of reporters, journalist, etc just grab each other work. And now they don't know what is factual and not.

So many report wrote things without looking to see facts. A lot do this just for clicks.

.... as for being a backup, that's dumb to ask a QB to be a backup. because wilson performed better and is at the end of his carrier.

.... by the way, it's insane how much you can make with clicks. A million view, one minute video on tiktok lands you a grand.

I think your giving Payton a little too much love here. I think the guy is a true ******* to be honest. He got fined when he was at New Orleans for the whole Bounty Gate thing. He talked **** about the previous HC in Denver right after he took over the position and then he dressed down Wilson on the sidelines last year in a game. I don’t have much respect for the guy. Outside of that his offense was a horrible fit for Wilson. I’m not saying Wilson is the answer for us but what he does bring is a veteran presence with a history of success. On the surface he appears to be a fit for this offense..... heavy play action pass, strong run game with deep passes to the perimeter pretty much what he had success with in Seattle. The biggest thing is he comes cheap and we don’t have to give up draft capital. If the Steelers handle it right and it is a true competition then let the best man win. If KP truly has something and Wilson is washed up as you suggest then KP should win the job out right and Wilson will be a veteran backup. At the very least the Steelers owe it to GP, Watt, Minkah and Cam to get some serious competition in here for KP moving forward.

Going out and getting Fields is a huge mistake in my mind. You have to give up draft capital. You essentially are truly giving up on KP as you are committing to much to Fields to not start him and he is going to cost alot more salary wise. In addition he hasn’t proven anything yet in the NFL so it is a huge gamble. Wilson isn’t a gamble.

Rooney said he wanted competition for Pickett

Therefore I would suspect whomever comes in will be given a chance

No chance no competition no fire in the butt of KSP

Lets hope, seems to me we have had some miscommunication
In FA in past. One will be in the Steelers ring of honor. I guess I will keep
my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

There is more red flags on this team than those 2. I have never
seen a more disconnected team since AB and Bell were on the loose.
Team concept/ building doesn't seem to exist. Collecting paychecks.
