There’s always a team that thinks they are the one to unlock a players potential.

I doubt he is too concerned about you questioning his skills. (BTW - it it OMAR - no 'h')

many here feel it would be significant upgrade and move in a better direction.

    we will see.

one thing seems certain the past 24 hours - there have lies, BS and smokescreens and Omar is NOT CONTENT with the QB situation. and he should not be.

The percentages don’t add up. 27% (behind the LOS) + 62% (0 to 5 yds beyond the LOS) + 26% (5 to 15 yds downfield) =. 115%. Unless there something I’m not getting.
But if RW is throwing most of this passes within 5 yds of the LOS, doesn’t that make him the ideal Steeler QB given the way they’ve played in recent yrs?

Yeah I just saw this. If it doesn’t happen it tells me two things. The Steelers were open with Wilson about a QB competition with KP and Wilson balked at that and walked and if thats the case then it says alot about Wilsons confidence in himself. IF this happens it could be very interesting from a competition perspective. I certainly would rather this than take a massive gamble on Fields. Fields from what I have seen has the exact same issues as KP - poor pocket presence and not good at reading the field or the opposing defense. With Wilson perhaps in Arthur Smiths system it could be career rejuvenator. I know he has some personality quirks but I think Tomlin and Heyward would back him from a leadership perspective and he does have the added advantage of previous success to warrant respect.

How do we know Wilson is far past his prime. When he had success in Settle the team was built around the run game and the defense. He wanted to be the man and when he got the chance he struggled. Perhaps his talent was never what any of us thought it was and he was just super good in game management position ala the Seahawks old offense. If that is case perhaps he recaptures the magic under Arthur Smith? Can he still scramble and run outside of the pocket to extend plays? I don’t know I am asking? If he can do that then to me I think the last two years were more about the systems he was in and lack of fit and his confidence.

No to Fields. No to Wilson unless it’s a really cheap deal to take advantage of the offset language in his contract with Denver.

What I do is inquire with the Commando’s on the asking price for Sam Howell.

    Sign Rudolph.
Going into camp Rudolph is QB 1/2 and Pickett is QB 1/2 (in other words, make it a fair and open competition for the job)
Draft Penix in the 4th, Rattler in the 5th or Milton in the 6th as a developmental project.

That's a bad habit I got into.... Ohmar vs Omar.
It's like my handle.... some say Carl, Americanized vs German Karl.
Ohmar Zahn worked in the Redskins office.... Omar is the Steelers GM... gotta get that into my brain.

Now while we are on the subject of Grammer...
"one thing seems certain the past 24 hours - there have [been?] lies, BS and smokescreens"
    lol.....

In response to this: "many here feel it would be significant upgrade and move in a better direction."

My god man.... I wonder if these same folks watched this guy?
He had a couple 4 TD games against zeros. Other than that 1 TD at best... that's barely better.
He got throttled by better defenses.
He did add 657 Yards rushing - he is a good runner... but that's not what I want my QB to do.
    His avg/pass yards sucks.

So no..... the goal is to upgrade over Kenny/Mitch/Mason.... I don't see much of an upgrade here.
It could be argued that it is Chicago... but.. we did that with Mitch.

Now if they cut him, and we could sign him for prove it deal... that's different.
RE: Trade - His contract isn't horrible... but I'd bet he wants a new one. Plus he's going to cost me something (player and/or pick(s))
It might be better to trade up in the draft and use a player in that scenario.

As far as what Omar thinks.. I'll keep that in mind when I see other comments.

I hear if you get that mud streak out of them, they’re pretty tasty.

Can any carp eaters here confirm?

I heard the same thing, I personally have never eaten. They are tons of fun to catch. We have stripers down here in SC, they are a hybrid bass very aggressive, they hit live bait and go deep, similar to carp. They are a good eating fish.

Have you ever heard of Sandy Lake that was in Dravosburg? They used to have carp tournaments.

Not a big fan, but You can clean them, and then soak them in milk, and salt, and it will take out the unwanted stuff.

    That is a good scenario

But they also need to plan accordingly if Mason decides to mosey on

Penix isn't going to last until the 4th round, I think the latest he goes is in the second round.
