wake up call is the right answer. but just for fun lets say ben to arizona and back with arians for kolb this years first and second and next years first. arizona picks 7th. whatever high grade pass rusher you want at 7(ansah, mingo, jordan, etc..), barrett jones at 17. eddie lacey and whatever safety you want in the second round. you could take kevin reddick at ILB in the third or maybe marcus davis a 6-4 reciever. not to mention the rest of the draft or next years. kolb is in no way in bens class but could get you through till next years quarterback class or so. if the front office thinks bens best is behind him (example alan faneca) trading while his stock is high might not be all bad.

they would know better than us, not that it's the case, just possible. if everybody knew it, there would be no value in return. when was the last time ben played 16? when was the last time he looked good coming back from injury? the things we liked about him are catching up with him. i don't know that i want to see ben go, wait i know i don't want to see ben go, but i don't like being behind the curve. really the extra picks talk is just fun to think about. besides with two 1st rounders next year maybe we could land clowney.

i will say this, if we could get picks and package them to get clowney i am in. the guy is a beast. i get to see him 6 or 7 times a year. he tajes plays off but i think its caus he gets bored. i know it sounds stupid but when he wants to make a pkay he does. he michigan play gets coverage but he done it all night against clemson

Smart you want to trade a HOF franchise Qb in his prime for an unproven LB...

Not sure if you got the memo bednarik but its not 1960 anymore...its a Qb driven league and if you do not have a franchise QB you dont win...

There will come a time, in the not so distant future, when we will say, "I saw him (Ben) play". He is of that group of players and all it entails. Enjoy watching a HOF'er now, in the making while it's happening. We're lucky, enjoy it.

Trade for a couple draft picks that may, with a lot of luck (pun intended), pan out?

    C'mon Man...

i never said i was a proponent, i said that part of it aside it would be fun to think about the picks. as far as quarterback driven league goes yes, and the teams that do the best countering that have elite pass rush. right now we have the quarterback but not the pass rush and are 8-8. as far as franchise quarterback i agree with you, however he will leave sometime and there's no guarantee we won't show him the door. i know we don't already have our next quarterback but montana, favre, mcnair, mcnaab were all viewed the same way. biggest issue is i think ben might already be devalued to much around the league to get worth out of him. it all really comes down to information and evaluations we don't have but it is not necessarily crazy or stupid.

worked out pretty good for the colts and they got nothing in return. I love ben and as i said i wouldnt trade him for anyone. i dont think like the front office does. IMO, if the look at the beating he has took and the fact that it is hard for him to stay healthy the past few years. I mean he has played hurt alot. maybe even when he shouldnt have. the 49er game last year comes to mind. he is 30 or maybe 31 when next year starts. if he plays 2 more good years and then starts to fall off, do they trade him now to get value? I dont think they will. just wondering and killing time. thinking it would be something to discuss. if you look at history the packers would have probably trade farve a year or two early to get something in return. same with philly, mcnabb had some value before they let him go. if its a business decision its something to consider if someone offers a ton in return. I personally think ben will be here and play at a high level for 6 or 7 more years, but i dont make those decisions. lucky for the steelers i dont
