I would choose him over all the other QB’s. I like him. He has moxy, he is confident and I think he has matured and grown into a solid QB. Cleveland shouldn’t have given up on him. Ok ready to be blasted by everyone for promoting him.

I wouldn't be opposed to the idea.

If nothing else, his 'at home with Baker' adverts were far less cringe-worthy than most of the adverts NFL players do.

I did not post it because I knew I'd get blasted for it but I want Baker big time. I don't follow the money trail in football but another poster made a good point about the cost.

I'd be thrilled next week if we had him. I'm under the opinion that Pickett is not a starting NFL QB.

This would be a big mistake by the Buccaneers. They won the division and won a playoff game with Mayfield. It must be that they just don't have the cap room to bring him back.

They signed Mike Evans to a big, and probably his last, contract. It would be foolish for them not to bring back Mayfield or bring in a big time FA to toss the ball. Maybe they are looking at Wilson

Heard on the radio this morning.

Buccs will sign Baker to a deal over time. Too many other guys to re-sign to tag Baker and use $38M this year against the cap.

Tampa would be in a QB limbo should they allow Baker to leave. Right now, he is their best option.
I hadn't thought about the deal with Evans, factoring that in it sort of makes sense for the delay.
They'll have to make a few adjustments.

I think in signing Baker, you are committing to him as a starter and that's not what the front office here wants.
They want a guy that will come in and compete but is comfortable at #2 should Pickett return to his rookie form promise.

The Steelers missed the boat on him two years ago. We should have brought him in instead of Mitch.

Baker wasn’t very good in Cleveland kept acting like a clown and if I remember correctly he wasn’t well liked by his teammates

Maybe get booted caused him to grow up and be a team player

    He did well last year

I think Baker returns to Tampa Bay, I don't see the Steelers wanting to pay him 30 million or more.

Baker is better than He was, but I will keep saying this. Baker is not better than Mason Rudolph. He wasn't in college, and he's not in the NFL. He has just gotten more chances because of the idiots drafting him number one overall.

It's the same one I have been saying before both were drafted. Ive said a bunch of times I had Mason above Baker. The only thing I had Baker rated higher was His feet, and pocket awareness. Everything else I had Mason rated higher. I was blown away that Baker was the 1st pick taken.

I knew he was overrated to go #1 overall. He's better than what the Steelers have right now.

The issue is cost. Not a huge fan bit not a terrible idea either. Kind of feeling 'meh' on this one.

I think you're right. I remember reading about some type of rift between him and Myles Garrett, but then again I am really not a big fan of Myles Garrett. If we signed him it sure would up the rivalry with them.

He kind of reminds me of a cross between Brett Favre and Bubby Brister. I’m obviously not comparing his talent to the level of Brett Favre.

Just for perspective $30M would put him at 16th highest paid quarterback

Watching a sports talk show today, and one of the panelists said Fields would excel with Tomlin. This was a local sports show in Chicago. Saying Tomlin is a qb whisperer, am I missing something here?
