McCarthy is going to be drafted high. He definitely benefitted from the combine. He's a very smart QB... but I dunno.
I rank him probably as 6th or 7th.. and with an asterisk - I'd want to work with him some.
I do like him, as mentioned he is very smart football-wise. He's a boom or bust.

    Rattler, I dunno.
For those whining about Pickett's age, Rattler will be 24.
He seems like a bigger risk than McCarthy in my opinion. I'm 50-50 on him.

Penix is the guy that if he's there at 20, it would be hard not to call his name.
He has the best deep throw...

Joe Milton launched that pass that was in the air for over 70+ yards... and he made it look easy.
Milton is not accurate typically, but he did improve at the combines. Still @ 20, I'd say no, but if he falls to the 3rd or 4th....

The advantage of Rattler is they might be able to get him in the fourth round. McCarthy probably belong in the second or third round, but I doubt he will even last to pick No. 20 in the first round. That's way too costly for a quarterback with his limitations.

To me, it is easy to pass on Penix in the first round. He has suffered injuries to both shoulders and tore his right ACL twice in college. No thank you.

That is a good fact I forgot to mention.
But watching him, you just don't see it. But getting hit by NFL defenses, it is a different story.
I agree about McCarthy... I don't want a #20 used on him, I want that OT.
Rattler, no matter how hard I try, I can't get past 50-50 on him. That benching sort of sticks with me. (I know that in the 3rd it should be much less impact, but I just can't get past it.)

I watch Milton pretty hard.... the guy has it all but then game time, he is a single side QB (meaning he can only read right, center or left for the play) and when he puts some heat on those tight window throws, man he reminds me of pre-glasses "Wild Thang" - I don't know if NFL coaching can fix that.

I watched Reed some as well and looked at his games. He may be more coachable. But he strikes me as a pocket passer, not much on extending plays.

Top 3 aside though, the best pock presence QB is McCarthy. As mentioned, he is a smart QB. I just don't know if it translates to the NFL. He's a guy that if you draft, you better put him under the microscope... I vote Pittsburgh should pass.

Yeah the teams as a whole aren't even close. One played for a the top team in their division, and the other played for the bottom 3rd in their division. Hell even I'd go with Rattler in the 4th if He was still there.

The only thing Rattler will be doing on Sundays is sitting on the bench.
