Then we will have 2 JPJ's...

He is only due 6 mill and change. I wouldn't be surprised if he is retained. although his dead cap would only be 1,5 mill if released before the roster bonus kicks in.

Center should be top priority. Then DL or corner or tackle. They have two 4ths but no 5th. Possibly Khan pulls some more magic and gets something for Chuks. Sprinkle in a receiver. Maybe they go outside for a corner. Wouldn't be a surprise.

I have, about a month ago. Frazier can play, I am sure the Steelers have had eyes on him since Morgantown
is only hour and a half away.

Need some info, any info, as there are two names on the Combine list of centers I've never heard of before.
Grades according to NFL.com combine list:
    Barton- 6.46
    JPJ- 6.34
    Hunter Nourzad (PSU)- 6.26
    Van Pran- 6.25
    Nick Samac (Mich. State)- 6.14
    Frazier- 6.12

I've never heard of Nourzad or Samac, and haven't seen them in any of the mock draft sites. Anybody got info on them? Walter (I know, Walter sucks) doesn't even have them listed, either as a C or a G. But apparently they've been invited to the combine.

Nourzad from Penn State has pretty good size at 6'3" and weighs 320. He started out playing RT for 2 years at Cornell and was named the Lineman of the year in the Ivy League. He then transferred to Penn State where he played left guard his junior year and then played center all of last year and was second team all Big Ten. He had a good week at the Shrine game last month and has moved up from a UDFA project to a late round draft pick.
Samac is 6'4 and 305 and has played all 4 years at Michigan State at center. He is graded high for the running game but has trouble with pass blocking according to the reports I have read.

Thanks. I tried googling nourzad and pretty much came up with a blank. Was just wondering with how high nfl network had them rated.

Not going to get JPJ or Frazier if not selected in first 2 rounds. Serious thought
process needs to be done to figure out how to handle this important
    decision.

Any Results from the Combine posted for Jackson Powers Johnson.

I don't know what it is about this year, but I am having problems finding results. Maybe it is because they just didn't participate.

I loved Zach Frazier's comments at the combine today. He said his favorite thing to do is run block, Frazier said he hopes to go to a team that likes to run the football a lot. I sure would like to see him in the Black and Gold.

He is relentless,Lions maybe in mix@29. I hope we have some plan B options,
I guess FA is an option. Not real familiar with the center position of other teams.

That's too tall for a center. IMO.

No that was my mistake, I was thinking he was a center, he’s a RT.

Wow, Van Pran got slammed on NFL.com. It finishes with "It would be tough for me to project him as a top-125 player at this point in the process."

If Mason Cole was on the team then Yes. With Frazier being injured, do you really want to count on him at center this year?

The only pick that could be worse is Barton. Played his entire life as a LT, and now wants to make the change to center overnight?

Van Pran's stock has dropped like a rock since skipping out on the senior bowl the night before it was to take place.

This may be a 1 horse race with JPJ being the only center worth an early round pick.

And then this happens: (That's Steelers O-line coach Isaac Williams)

If that looks familiar, here's the 2023 combine, with Williams and Broderick Jones:

I like the kid but OT is the value in the first. It's the value, monetarily, in general.

And they are both positions of need.

It's only a value of the OY is equally as talented.

Fuaga or Latham sure. Anyone else on the back end, id rather JPJ... Just don't trust the floor for any of the other late Tackles.

Alt, Fash, Fuaga, and Lath... That's it... JPJ then Corners ( at least 5 of them) over any of the other tackles.

I agree that value is better, especially for free agents. A free agent center is going to cost less than a tackle of the same quality. But 1st round value in the draft is usually for Left Tackles, and we already have one of them. Depending on what happens with Frazier's injury, there may only be one center worth taking in the first three rounds who will actually contribute next year, and that's JPJ, and if we want him, it has to be in the first. We can get a good right tackle in 3 or 4.
