Hoge: Steelers still have a strong belief in Pickett

We shall see how it works out. But it would be foolhardy to go into the season without a solid plan B.

 

All I know is that we’ve all been beating this dead horse ever since Mason emerged as the clearly superior alternative to Kenny.

 

Don’t count Mason out yet. I’m not.

The Steelers have faith in Pickett and he’s their #1, but they’re brining in competition? Something doesn’t add up

That will be what they do and should do

What part is a challenge to add up

 

Only one will be starting the first game if that’s what you meant

 

If they had faith in him and truly believed he was their starter they wouldn’t be bringing in competition.

 

They think he can take the next step is one of the things they said

But no one knows if he will so you need a plan B

And having competition is always good

 

Fields isn't the only available QB though.

 

He will be but would have a very short leash. I feel kinda sorry for Pickett if that’s the case. Can you imagine the calls for Rudolph if he has couple of sub-par games? The MA-SON RU-DOLPH chants will be deafening.

 

If Pickett has a couple of Sub Par games there should not be a call for Mason

 

Unless there were other comments later, he did not confirm that there have been conversations with Chicago. He simply said they aren't going to tell the media about any conversations they have had and people assumed the non-denial was confirmation.

 

Hoge isn't afraid to go against conventional wisdom. Hell, he put his name on a book that claims that the danger of concussions in the NFL is being blown out of proportion, and concussions nearly killed Hoge.
