Hey, if we got a second for Claypool maybe they’d give us their first for DJ. :lolol:

Makes a bit of sense if we are truly looking at WR's in the first round. Wouldn't trade him for less than a second (or in a package to pick up a QB). His value to this team is very high.

I wonder if KC is looking for a WR... maybe we can take 32 off their hands. DJ would catch for 1500 yards and 10 TDs with Mahomes throwing him the rock. We could draft a WR and a CB/C in the first if we do something like this.

It’s not gonna happen. The draft is loaded at WR this year. Why would somebody trade for a guy entering his third contract who is gonna want paid who has questions about his attitude an effort? Yes he is a good route runner but he isn’t a top tier guy. I highly doubt we could get a second for him.

Experience typically has value. The fact that the Steelers don’t need to or have to trade DJ helps maintain his value. Doesn’t hurt his value. If the Steelers do bring in a vet FA like Tyler Boyd I would say DJ is definitely being shopped.

Because you know what you are getting rather than a crap shoot in the draft

Not saying I would do it but some GMs do weird stuff

Maybe Andy Reid could teach him to run forward after making a catch instead of turning and running the wrong way.

Maybe we can get FIelds for him. Having a vet WR for their rookie QB would be a good move for them..

Callaway had a decent season in 2021 with the Saints catching 46 passes for 700 yards and 6 TD's but has bounced around the league on practice squads after that.

He was cut by the Saints at the end of the 2022 season and signed by the Broncos in the spring of 2023. The Broncos cut him at the end of training camp and he was signed by Raiders on their practice squad. The Raiders released him last October and then in November of last year he rejoined the Saints who departed with him again at the end of the season.

he never actually played a game for any of the other two teams. not a terrible 4th or 5th option to have around. as jeh said most likely a punt and kick returner if austin takes over a wr spot more than last year.

We just traded a significantly worse WR for the 32nd pick not that long ago.... what makes you think DJ couldn't get it? He's a proven commodity who is one of the best in the league at getting open. His market value at this point is sub 20 million too. He's going to be paid, but he won't be among the highest earners at the position. He'd thrive in another situation. His attitude issues of the last season stem entirely from thinking his QB sucks (he's right), and he wasn't a problem prior to then. If he goes into a situation with a proven QB and he's the first or second option, I don't think he would be a problem at all (at least not compared to any other WR).
