Could Troy get pulled into the T'eo controversy?

This article doesn't mention it, but apparently this FB with the Cards, Reagan Maui'a, said that he met T'eo's girlfriend at a Samoan charitable event last year. He also mentioned that Troy P was part of that event and the implication was that Troy, and other players, may have met her. I heard this on ESPN radio this morning on the Mike & Mike Show.

Any takers on T'eo with the 17th pick after this bizarre episode?

He later tweeted troy never met her while working for the charity.

 

Okay, good. Thanks for clarifying that. When I heard that this morning the first thought that I had was that the media would be hounding Troy over it.

Again, should the Steelers consider drafting him if he's there at 17?

 

Most definitely - he's young, and if this is the only kind of mistake he has made, I'd say that's considerably less baggage than a lot of stars that come up.

 

I kind of feel the same. In fact, if he does slide to #17, this story could wind up being a huge blessing for us. It's definitely not something he's likely to repeat, and I can't really see how it would impact the team in any way. Hopefully a bunch of teams out there are super concerned by this. It's working out for us with Mike Adams.

I don't think I want him. It's hard for me to believe he was this naive. And if he was then he has some issues to work out. If he was in fact involved in this circus then he has some major issues to work out and would more than likely be a candidate for a locker room cancer.

Besides I lost a lot of interest in him after watching the BCS championship game and his performance.

 

This story gets more bizarre by the minute. If somebody is that attention starved to make up fantasy's and spew them out to the media then I wouldn't bring him anywhere near my organization no matter what talent level he seems to possess. The true victim here is the girl who knew nothing of this wild imaginary fantasy. It's kind of creepy if you think about it.

 

He was well aware of this before that BCS game and knew that the can of worms was about to be opened shortly there after which may explain his poor performance but honestly there is no excuse for this type of behavior. The media lately wants to talk about mental health issues he may have to be the first in line. He seems to be Coo Coo for Cocoa Puffs.

Are those really the same thing? Rainey had a violent history with women. At worst Te'o has a what... creative history with women? At best he did nothing. Unless he makes it worse by lying from here to the draft and making an ass out of himself, I don't really see the potential trouble down the road. What, is he gonna do it again?? If there were other questions about his character or passion or leadership on the field, you could argue he's just a nutball or something, but as far as I know he doesn't have any question marks there. I don't see this making a difference in his career except maybe where he is drafted and the kinds of questions he gets for his first few news conferences.
