I keep hearing this story of how the Steelers are always quite when free agency begins, but only 2 years ago the Steelers signed the Top rated Free Agent QB that year minutes after Free Agency began. How is signing the top QB that year, like watching paint dry?

With Mason Cole gone, I look for the Steelers to sign a Top Center and address the QB room as soon as free agency begins this year.

FYI: first week of Free Agency in 2023.
Steelers sign CB Patrick Peterson to 2-year deal — 3/13
Steelers sign Damontae Kazee to 2-year deal — 3/14
Steelers sign guard Nate Herbig to 2-year deal — 3/14
Steelers sign DL Larry Ogunjobi to 3-year contract — 3/14
Steelers sign LB Cole Holcomb to 3-year deal — 3/15
Steelers add LB Elandon Roberts to 2-year contract — 3/16
Steelers sign OG Isaac Seumalo to 3-year deal — 3/18

Don’t we have three solid TEs in Muth, Washington and Heyward? The problem is we didn’t use them

We have one (when healthy). Washington is a hybrid OT/TE and Heyward is a hybrid FB/TE. I think it's a position we need to upgrade in the off-season.

Doubt they do anything at TE. Muth will remain #1 and Tomlin loves Heyward. And Washington going into his second year should have a better grasp on things and hopefully used more in the passing game.

If we could combine Heyward and Washington, we'd have an unstoppable force at TE. Heyward runs well and is athletic and Washington is a monster blocker. But unfortunately we can't do that. Washington does not move well, seems to lumber in and out of routes (looks to me like the knee issues may be real) and Heyward is undersized and has issues staying on his blocks.

They are not remotely 3 solid TE’s

Take their strong points and they add up to one

Muth gets injured a lot, and apparently Washington has a degenerative knee that won't last too long. We definitely could use another option.

yes, someone here said Muth was a better pick than the C we SHOULD have taken, that the Chiefs took

    I disagree.....

Yeah, I never believed the hype about Washington being the next Gronk but he could give us more than they got out of him last season as a receiving threat.

I saw someone bring up a possible plan for Washington though, make him a full time lineman. That would open the door for Jonnu Smith.

Chad Johnson said a little birdie told him Russell Wilson would become a member of the Steelers FWIW.

I think they were talking about Gronk's brother Gordie.

I would love to have Jonnu Smith on a deal that doesn't break the bank. Falcons save 6 milion of his $9 million cap hit.

Jonnu played second fiddle to Kyle Pitts and still managed to have 50 catches with the terrible QB play in Atlanta. Our TE's behind Muth had 23/7. (Connor/Washington)

Tell Connor to start hanging out with the running backs this offseason, because the Steelers will need a FB, and he can't be any worse than the last Watt brother.

This blew up the internet. Everyone started claiming that a source close to the Steelers was saying they were interested in Russell Wilson, and if you dug through the B.S. it was all based on this blurb by Chad Johnson.

LOL... Ocho freaken Cinco is the "Source" close to the Steelers.

Steelers seems to be the landing spot for a majority of FAs. The beat writers don’t have much faith in our roster
