How would you feel if the Steelers were as good as & similar to the Chiefs?

This is why I asked if He just didn't like Chinese food, or all Asian food.
As Younger man I have dated many types of Asian, and therefore ate many kinds of Asian food, and they are different. I like them all, but I will have to say that I prefer Thai, and Laos food the most.
If someone hasn't had mashed locust, and papaya with a shot of 12 tiger... they are missing out.

 

Mashed locust? I grew up on a small farm 38 miles north of Pittsburgh and we raised cows, pigs and chickens. Almost 70 years later I still stick to the basics of beef, pork and chicken and don't like anything else.

Well, I've eaten a lot of worms from Tequila bottles. So I guess a few bugs aren't going to hurt.

 

Not sure there is a real Chinatown in San Diego. There's an area with a ton of Asian markets/restaurants but, they all seem to be Thai and Vietnamese. Of course, there are the myriad sushi places. I'd be happy with pressed duck! There is a restaurant in town named Bali Hai that has amazing duck breast. Not the same though......

 

I've eaten plenty of Curry Falafel, Hummus
Fermented goat, kabobs
It's all Asian.

I actually love Chinese food. There's a small restaurant near me that makes a killer hot and spicy shrimp that I get there.

I don't understand how so many here have only had Chinese food buffet style. Many Chinese restaurants give you the chance to order off the menu. They make your food right in front of you in a wok, so you can see exactly how it is prepared and the ingredients they are using. You aren't getting food that's been sitting there for a week in a plastic container.

I think finding a really good restaurant isn't always as easy as it sounds, but I think people need to avoid buffet style at all costs, find a few recommended restaurants that prepare individual meals and cook everything fresh, and be willing to try the many different styles until they find something they really like. I like spicy and flavorful, and tend to gravitate to hot and spicy or a good garlic sauce. Everyone has their own preferences and tastes, so I recommend to not be afraid to try things out of the mainstream.

The steelers ARE as good as the chiefs. We were supposed to play the 49ers except our plane diverted due to engine problems so the NFL picked the chiefs to fill in and play.

 

Had a buddy who got trapped in Nam. He had to lay low for 2 days. He ate crickets to keep him going. I've tried a crickets in Mexico and if I didn't know what they were I would have thought they tasted OK. It is just the thought of putting it in your mouth that makes it hard to eat for me.

 

Agree 100% with all of this. I always order my own Chinese food off the menu and it's made right there in front of me. I haven't ate buffet-style Chinese food since the late 90's. Only thing buffets are good for are Chinese food newbies, so they can figure what is good and what sucks.

I enjoy Thai cuisine with the coconut milk base. A little soupier but better flavor to me than the chili sauce versions.
Sort of the difference in Hunan and Szechuan. I’ll eat Hunan but much prefer Szechuan.
I also find that the best Kimchi is at the Vietnamese restaurants. They add frozen bean sprouts that gives it a unique contrast from the spicy heat.

 

So it's more an Asiatown...than a Chinatown.

 

I always say ....meat is meat, and eat it.
