Ehh... yes and no.

Since the sports journalists focus on Mahomes and passing, they went from #1 offense last year to #15 points, #9 yards this year.
On the other hand, this is a team sport. Their defense went from #16 points / #11 yards last year to #2 defense this year.

So I'd say they were as good this year as last, even though the league prefers high scoring.
