Trubisky cut

Could have listened to Me the day they signed Him...., and it would have been faster.

 

That was 4 or 5 years ago though. He’s pretty broken down at this stage certainly not a guy you are making a championship run with.

Not counting that only having 2 good seasons in 151 starts brings very little confidence.

The verdict is in. He has plenty of tape to show who he is.

We'll see what a team picks him up. Probably some team will. We will see.

 

Will we see how wrong the Steelers were? Will mason get picked up before trubisky?

 

Odds are the choice will probably be Pickett, Tannehill, or a mid-round rookie.

Who do you think is the best option out of those choices?

 

That was four years ago, which likely means a lot when the guy is 35.

 

Best option?! Tannehill but only because he has experience with the system Arthur Smith employs.


Long Term?! Hopefully Pickett but if not, Drew Allar from Penn State in 2025.... assuming he even lasts that long if he has the season I believe he can.

I think that's when the Steelers gotta look long term and see which upcoming FA's aren't going to be here. There's bout 4 potential FA's after the upcoming season in Muth, Warren (RFA) and DJ. I think it's doubtful that you can sign all three, therefore I re-sign Warren and Muth asap, give Harris that 5th year option, and trade DJ. If you're not going to re-sign DJ, then you might as well get some draft capital in return for him and use that capital as a trade-up package to get the QB of the future.

I was excited when Trubisky signed.

 

It's almost like they changed something big. Wonder what it was. Ohhhh it was the OC. Who was the OC during and after?

 

Perfect fit for the Arthur Smith offense too. Would love to have Baker.

This will be the point 'you can't keep them all' come in. Every so often it will come down to who you want and who you have to let go. I agree in trying to get some deal done with Muth, like him and if in the right system could be a top 10 and better TE, scary thing is the injury bug that he seems prone to. I don't know what you could get for DJ, if a team wanted to extend his contract then they might give a better pick, but barring that not sure you get a lot of value for him..and then after next year he becomes a FA and then you are looking at Pickens extension, and in the current environment that is not going to be cheap.
