We are doomed! Fields is a TO machine. Yes, I believe he is more athletic than KFP, but not much of an improvement.

We are eventually going to have to draft a future franchise qb.

Please explain the positives you see @steelersrule6@steelersrule6 . You want to deal and give up a lot for another qb from the Bears?
Another 1st round flop like Trubisky.

Some fans want old washed up Tannehill , at least Fields has some upside, I wouldn't give up a first round pick for him though.

Look i agree he has more upside than Tannehill. But if he has so much upside why are da Bears willing to get rid of him? Plus what they want for him isnt worth it, therefore i would go for Tannehill on the cheap. Like I mentioned, I would rather draft a future franchise qb than pick up someone elses discarded trash.

Where the Steelers are drafting in the first round, they won't have a chance to draft a franchise QB, signing Tannehill seems like Trubisky 2.0. to me.

Adam Schefter said on the Pat McAfee show today that even though bringing in Ryan Tannehill for the Steelers makes sense, Schefter said don't count out Justin Fields coming to Pittsburgh because Tomlin "absolutely loves Fields".

This… why do you want to get burned by the same pot twice?

Fields will not be a Steeler next year. Tannehill is much more likely.

They keep focusing on athleticism at QB over being able to process defenses and accurately throw a football under pressure.

You can go back to the day Trubisky was talked about. I said then like I'm saying now about Fields. It's not Chicago's team that's bad.....it's their terrible choice in Qbs that is bad.

I also wouldn't give up a first round pick for him, but man it would be a breath of fresh air to have a new QB. If we are selling out to run the ball, I don't think its the worst thing in the world to have a QB that can add a threat with his legs and beat you with his arm when you're not expecting it. Fields is never going to be a drop back on every down and beat you type of guy, but if we can use him to his strengths there is no reason to think he can't be pretty successful. Hurts-like even. As long as the pick isn't a first rounder (which I don't see the Bears getting at all) there isn't a ton of risk involved and it solves a lot of issues for us.

He's turned it over 41 times in 40 games, but his INT percentage has dropped every year and for carrying it 356 times we will just have to live with those turnovers from time to time. 52 TD's in 40 games definitely feels a lot better than what we've had. If he can continue to improve his INT percentage and we don't force him to have to play hero ball to win (our defense is good, we should be able to set him up to succeed), then I could see him being a solid player for us. With our defense, we don't need the best QB in the league, we just need a good bit better than KSP.

Fields as an NFL player, I'm not a fan of....he was pretty money in college though. I thought he was better than Stroud in college.

I'd love to have him on our team. He plays bad ball in the playoffs unfortunately for the Ravens, but he is a hell of a player.

    But way worse.
Year after year in the SB the best pocket passers win, and because the media tries selling the running Qb people buy into it. Before anyone mentions Mahomes....He almost hasn't run in his career what these true runners run in one freaking season.
There is a different between I can run, and I have to run

Da Bears are looking for revenge after the Chase Claypool fiasco. Plenty of lipstick will be used to make the pig pretty

Agreed. We gave them Kordell....they gave us Trubisky (for the sake of argument), we gave them Chase, and now they are waiting to get us back with Fields.....Just say No!!!!!!

I will be needing a new Monitor should this happen.

Phenix carries arguably the biggest boom/bust grade of any Prospect in the class. Much of that is due to his Injury History alone. The rest is his schematic limitations. Air Raid and Erhardt-Perkins style Offenses need not apply. Spread based West Coast or RPO Based West Coast only.
