Would not surprise me if his Agent put that out there. Right now Spotrac has his estimated Free Agent value at only $4.9 million for 2024.

Something tell me his agent is going to do everything he can to get Ryan more than his estimated value. As I posted earlier, Free Agent Kirk Cousins has a value of $40 million per year even though he is also 35 years old like Tannehill.

Tannehill's value just fell off a cliff for some reason.

He is 35 years old. Injuries cut into his playing time the last two seasons. He played poorly and eventually lost his job to a rookie this past season. Those are good reasons.

So, why didn't Kirk Cousins who is coming off an achilles injury, that sent him to the IR to end his season, not have the same problem. They are both 35+ free agents looking for a new home.

Does this sound like someone you would sign for 3 years and $120 million this offseason? That is what Cousin's estimated market value is.
Cousins was a guest on The Adam Schefter Podcast Tuesday and said, "One thought went through my head, 'Will I ever play football again?' You know, I'm an older guy, free agent, is there a market? I didn't know. I believe I will, and I believe it will be there but you wonder."

It is funny right now because you have the 2 NFL "Experts" both claiming that the Steelers are pursuing Different guys, and claiming Mason is pursuing a Fresh Start.

NFL.COM's Ian Rapport is claiming the Steelers are going after Tannehill.
Adam Schefter EXPOSES a BIG TRADE for Justin Fields to STEELERS is NEAR with Bears

The good news is, that this may help the Steelers get a better deal if both parties know the Steelers will only be making 1 of these deals and the other guy will be left out in the cold.

Post Combine. My money is still on Ryan Tannehill to be the Steelers veteran QB on the roster for 2024.

I think the only way Mason come back to the Steelers is if he is a total flop in free agency and has no where else to go.

Kahn said in his interview that even Arthur Smith is going to be pro Kenny Pickett as the teams starting QB this year.

I missed this at the time. Cousins was playing great when he got hurt. He had been remarkably durable before that injury, missing only one game in the previous eight seasons.

Because his play hasn't fallen off, Cousins is a baller. Tannehill was never as good as Cousins is, and he's in decline while Cousins isn't. We're not comparing similar players here

Or, did Tannehill's play decline because Arthur Smith was no longer there? :)

I don't know how disappointed Steelers Nation will be if the only QB the Steelers sign next week is Ryan Tannehill for around $5 million. As Mason remains a free agent again this year, waiting to see where all the big name QBs go.

    Good thing this isn’t baseball

You have about 8 strikes against you just on QB threads

It's probably a better thing that he didn't place all those bets he said he was going to. He'd have some guy named Vito with a baseball bat standing on his front porch right about now.

I had two roommates many years ago
One day I was sitting on the sofa and a large ugly Vito just walked in and was looking for the roommate who had just moved out
Then he just walked back out
I decided to leave well enough alone
