If this is even accurate, could just be a negotiating tactic. You want me back, gonna cost you.

I tend to believe it though. He posted a pic after the season complimenting and thanking his teammates, to me it looked like a goodbye.

Can’t blame him as in he knows he won’t start next season here?

Who cares? He's a backup QB. Pickett may not be the answer but neither is Mason.

That flies in the face of logic. He has outperformed the other 2 QBs on the roster. So I guess in your view we should cut them all or let them walk. Interesting solution.

The Steelers will have no real competition at the QB position. They are locked into Picket and that's the way it's going to be. End of story

This is no different than the glazer comments that got twisted all to hell.

what nfl team gives Rudolph a better chance to start than the Steelers? Pickett is at the bottom of the barrel for nfl starters and Rudolph has already taken his job.

I agree. At best it’s Picketts job to lose but baring a horrific preseason by him, he is all but guaranteed to start.

I was just curious to how Mac meant it because there is this idea that Rudolph has been mistreated by the Steelers.

Even if Mason leaves, I don't see him getting a starting job with another team.

When I see people act this way, it turns me off to wanting them back. I much rather put money into a legit QB FA or a trade or just draft a new QB.

I'm not interested in paying 10 million or more into what would be a backup QB in 28+ teams.

Makes sense. No way any of the other 31 teams would look at Rudolph as a starter.

It may very well be that isn't a priority for him. Maybe he just wants to get all he can. Rudolph seems to hold his cards close to the vest.

    we know you don't

    but I think he will.

    time will tell,

he would / should be starting here over Kenny, that we can agree upon, based on evidence of games viewed in the 2023 season:cool:

Leave Mason. The Steelers are in a pickle with QB situation and I want to see Rooney and Tomlin go off the deep end when they realize Pickett is not going to make it in Pittsburgh.

It would probably be best for both parties to separate. Mason needs a fresh start and environment. The Steelers need to keep looking for their next franchise QB. They may need to draft a few more in the early rounds to find him. I don't want to go through another two decades of giving mediocre QBs 3-4 seasons to prove they aren't going to get any better like we did from 1984-2004.

No, he didn't, but keep pushing that false narrative if you feel the need.

You can always count on Tannehill to make one head scratching mistake to put his team in jeopardy or cause his team to lose. Yes that’s better than Trubisky who makes multiple head scratching mistakes, but is that who we want as a backup?
