I am going to have to agree with Merrill Hoge. Granted USC was terrible
but I also don't think Williams is all that.

Williams was better in 2022 than he was in 2023, his OL wasn't good this season and he struggled, but I disagree with Hoge on Williams.

When he played against ND that has pretty good players wasn't too impressive.
Now he goes to NFL where their all good?

Does he see enough in him that fields will grow through the 38 int and 30 fumbles in 40 games?

I know I have watched Caleb play every game at USC, the OL couldn't block in the ND game.

    Josh Allen

    29 Int 32 Fum 40 games.
    82 Int 68 Fum career.

He grew as a QB but never overcame the turnover problem. Can happen.

At least someone else agrees with me. That said, I believe that Caleb being overhyped is of another problem. The Media at large has wanted some "Generational QB" to rise up since Andrew Luck. Again, people may laugh at Luck now but Lucks first four seasons in the League were nothing to scoff at.

Biggest reason why Luck could never be "the next one" is two words.

    Ryan. Grigson.

If one elects to add Jim Irsay as well?! By all means. Grigson cataclysmaitcally failed to protect Andrew via the Offensive Line up until 2018; Quenton Nelson being the pick.

Can't be a turnover machine and win consistently.

All the more reason him going to the Chicago Bears is the worst spot possible; DJ Moore or not. If anything, the Super Bowl has shown why Patrick Mahomes was, is and will be the best QB in the NFL for the foreseeable future. Patrick Mahomes had realized after his second season (first fully starting one in 2018) that great players aren't always great. They are just great when they have to be.

Should Caleb realize this?! Now the Bears will be cookin' with something special. However, due to how inept their Offensive History has been... I'd expect Williams to rely on his penchant of "Hero Ball" far more than any time he showed at USC.

What makes you think his new NFL team will block any better? So say
the Bears are stupid enough to pick this person what makes you think
Their overall team will make him successful?

I have seen multiple reports/videos of people saying that Caleb Williams has informed the Bears he will not be going to Chicago.

Show me any young QB who is going to be successful, if his OL can't block.

Williams absolutely has the arm talent and athletic ability, but that whole scene with him curled up and crying in his mother's arms may bring his mental toughness into question

Williams played in the conference championship game in 2022 with a torn hamstring, refusing to come out of the game.
