I read a Star Trek fan theory somewhere that the transporters kill the person every time they are used. The body can't survive being reduced to atoms like that. Each time a person is transported, a perfect replica of the person, complete with memories, is constructed from those atoms at the other end. They don't realize what has happened and the murder continues. It's silly, but I can't help but think of it when I see a reference to those transporters and it would probably be enough to keep me from ever using one if the technology was invented in my lifetime.

Nothing worse than sh!tty meals when you're expecting good ones. I went to Punta Cana recently and the food was not good at the resort. Service was even worse.

It wasn’t so much that it was ****ty but Russians boil or stew everything pretty much without seasoning

And lots and lots of root vegetables and cabbage because that’s what grows in Siberia

Part of the problem is I’m a good cook and I know it takes very little more effort and cost to make good food rather than mediocre food

I was in Cairo, Egypt around 40 years ago. The older generation there still treat cats a sacred as they think the cats inhabit the souls of their departed ancestors. The younger generation isn't quite sure but still allow them to go wherever they want to. I went into a local restaurant off the beaten pass and there were cats all through the place and I ordered a steak with fried potatoes. The cats immediately tried to jump up and eat the steak off my plate. I had to be careful about how forceful I was in pushing them away or I wouldn't gotten out of the restaurant alive. Some cats were even up in the rafters above and would jump down from above on the tables. I threw my fried potatoes on the floor and quickly gobbled down the steak while the cats scampered after the potatoes. I almost finished the steak before they returned by then I just gave up and left. I'm just glad I didn't order fish or they would have clawed me to death going after it.

In some ways I just wouldn't be surprised if that game was played in Brazil. Outside of the Cowboys, the Steelers are one of the largest Latin American draws and the intrastate matchup seems enticing to enough for a nationally televise game. Then considering Rooney pushing for a game played abroad, with those other factors just seems like the unperfect storm.
