what do we do with chuks okrafor and dan moore? do we keep dan? he is a 3 year starter and still on a rookie contract. he must have a hard time going to the right side so that would kind of rule him out as the swing tackle. we would save 10 mil. if we cut both but it also leaves a void.

i kind of like jones on the right side. we have a lot of backup guys signed at tackle right now. could any of them step up?

what would happen if munchak were to come back? could we keep moore and hope munch can improve him? he's not terrible but rather needs some fine tuning.

cutting both would leave us needing a starter plus a swing tackle at the minimum.

Pretty sure after Chuks complaining about finishing a game his time here is over. Can Moore take a step forward in pass blocking?

Keep Dan one more year on his rookie contract

Chuks needs to have already cleaned out his locker

See what happens in the draft

I doubt we get a tackle in FA

There are a couple of mock drafts that have the Steelers taking Amarius Mims from Georgia. Mims is 6'7" 340 lbs and plays RT. Move Jones over to LT and keep Dan Moore as a backup.

if munchak can come in will it help moore? that is the question. as i was saying if we cut both then we are very young at the position and replacing two guy at least. that's tough enough to replace one but two makes it tough. even if we draft a guy we still need a swing tackle for a backup. to me moore either starts on the left or he has to go. this could become a problem. do we just roll with what we have and replace cole? draft a tackle that can play both sides and see what we have in our depth guys?

the only trouble with that is moore struggles at RT. even worse than LT. one injury could make things much worse with that idea.

i don't think there is any question we try to move chuks. OR we keep chuks as the swing tackle and try to move moore.

Because he got benched. He got benched because he questioned why the Steelers were even trying anymore. They should just take a knee and accept the loss.

O line, O line and O line in upcoming drafts. Problem with fixing Oline is it takes time. No matter how much we want it and everyone sees it takes years of drafts, pickups, n practice to mesh. It’s unique in that sense.

Chuks is done as a Steeler, they should be able to get a pick for him, he isn’t terrible and isn’t expensive, there are worse Tackles starting in the league.

Keep Moore for sure but very doubtful he is re-signed at the end of his rookie deal so if there is a chance to upgrade in the draft do it.

At least they look to have one side locked down with Jones, presumably he shifts to the left at some point.

If he's there at 20 it's very likely he's the pick. The only other position of need with talent that currently looks to be there would be CB.

If they can turn around and pick up a Powers-Johnson or (more likely) Van Pran to fill the middle, they look to have a line of Jones/Seumalo/drafted C/Daniels/Mims. That a pretty solid front five (including two, possibly three, from the same program). I still think they need to upgrade line coach.

Hopefully the Khan Man can get some compensation for Chuks. A 3rd would be sweet.

Jones goes to the left to the left

They draft a stud right tackle.

Moore plays out his time here as a backup.

The center position needs to be addressed although they will probably roll with Cole for his last season possibly grabbing one in the 3rd.

First they have to get under the cap.

where does dylan cook and spencer anderson fall into this group? both were on the 53 last year. maybe we don't need a draft pick for the right side. there was a good deal of praise for cook last season. anderson was a draft pick as well that can play tackle or several other positions on the line. in college he was mostly a tackle.

Like it, but we also need a really good ILB, DT/DE, CB and C. WE don't have enough 1st and 2nd round picks. If only we could target a faller this year that we think shouldn't fall, trade back and get another 3rd round pick or something. Ugh.

I'd readlly like to see Dan Moore never starting another game. He's just BAD. Cole is almost as bad and can't snap the ball anymore.

Another shutdown CB opposite of JPJ would help to reduce impact of so-so DL and ILB.

In fairness to Chuks, we saw some OL leave and greatly improve. It's possible, with an OC and OL coach switch, he might be what they'd hope he be. I don't trust Meyer at this point given our struggles and playing guys out of position too frequently for no good reason at all.

I believe Anderson had a helmet for every game that says a lot

That he did it as a 7th round pick says a lot more

If they think this guy has a chance then all they need to do in FA is find a middle of the road guy or a guy at the end of his career to fill in at RT for a while until Anderson develops

Pretty sure cook is already gone. My guess is Anderson is their new ultra swing man

you may be right on cook.

if anderson could step in on the right side, we could draft a center, keep cole and mccollum. cole can play other positions as a backup. also keep moore as the swing tackle.

they have brought in some other young linemen as well. not sure of their value.

    tyler beach- wisconsin rookie

    kellen diesch- arizona 1 year

    joey fisher- shepherd rookie guard

    devery hamilton- duke 2 years

    anderson hardy- app. state rookie

The way Matt Williamson was talking before the season, the Steelers thought Andersons best position may be Center. I was hoping to see him get some snaps after Cole crapped the bed.
