I don’t think anyone is assuming anything just wishful thinking

And he actually was talking Tennessee at first that’s 1,154 miles

Acrisure stadium is 1,443 miles not a giant leap

And west coast isn’t exactly close to Denver Seattle for example is 1,305 miles

I just hope he didn't forget to coach during the 3 years in Atlanta and that he wasn't just a product of Derrick Henry....In 2023 Smith too often he forgot to use his best players. He was their play caller on offense btw.He could just be a poor HC but a very good OC like he was in 2019 and 2020...we will see

Passing is King, where are you getting this info? In order to Win games in the NFL you need a superior running game.

#1 Seed in the AFC was Baltimore. #1 seed in the NFC was San Francisco.

#1 rushing offense in the NFL was Baltimore with 2,661 yards rushing.
#1 RB in the NFL was San Francisco's McCaffery with 1,459 yard rushing.

Anything wrong with being ranked #1 in your conference because of your running game? I loved watching San Francisco run out of the I-Formation this year; hope it catches on in Pittsburgh. :)

Smith was a better OC than HC. Some just aren’t cut out to be HC but excel in a coordinator role.

We all need to give him a shot here to see what his offense looks like when he is only the OC. Obviously the HC gig didn’t go well. Biggest area of concern is how bad Rider looked as I feel he is a similar talent to KP

Downtown Pittsburgh would’ve preferred Haley too.

Where’s the green font? A lot of fans and Big Ben ran Haley straight out of town.

Our QB situation right now is much better? You should check out Kenny's accuracy ratings compared to other starters. Deshaun Watson was the only non-rookie regular starter that had a higher bad throw percentage than Kenny did this season (KFP was about league average among starters in on target %). Desmond Ridder and Heinecke are pretty similar statistically to Pickett. Not sure Kenny is better than either one of them...

Can't really evaluate at this time, but I cant say I absolutely hate the move. Don't love it either, but the results are still to be seen. Turned an OK QB in Tannehill and a top flight RB into a good offense. I'll be happy if we can be above league average in points. If we are, we should win a lot of games.

The lil snippet I saw on total access , they didn't seem to be to impressed with Smith . They said when it comes to calling plays Tomlin needs to put Smith in a box. What ever that means  I'm guessing they mean Tomlin should give him boundaries

This makes a lot of sense for an outside hire. Coached under Whisenhunt, Vrabel, Munchak, and Mularkey. Long list of Steelers dudes there

So back to trying to win games 6-3 and Pickett afraid to throw to the middle of the field? Wonderful

So you would have preferred a guy who hasn’t been able to find any form of a job in the NFL for going on 6 years and you wanted to make him our OC

    Oh boy

I kinda liked the way he came at Allen. What the Saints did (or rather what Jameis Winston did) was :bscow:. We need a coach with a little fire who might get in a players face when they need it. Neither Catatonic Canada nor Cool as a Cucumber Tomlin seem to ever want to do that. I like to see a coach get uncontrollably angry from time to time and show some passion.

Tannehill threw 55 TDs in the two years with Smith as his OC.

Me too! Even Chuck Noll would lose it from time to time. Tomlin gets fired up, but usually it’s not out of anger because of a bone-headed play or mental error, it’s because of a splash play or something like that. I know everyone’s different and that may not be Tomlin’s style, but I prefer to see a head coach light a player up from time to time when needed.

The Chargers game was really bad but the others he had Kordell mainly. I’m not sure those were choke jobs Kordell just wasn’t it. He is a worse version of Lamar.
