    Yes

But are you using Canada as the standard OC in the nfl

    I’m thinking not

If you are going to have open heart surgery do you want a premed student with the nurses guiding him or you want someone that has actually done it successfully.

They already went the non experience route and got Canada. I prefer someone with experience but don’t worry, Rooney isn’t taking my calls.

    Well

You certainly went to an extreme to try to defend your position

By your logic we should trade all draft choices and only sign “experienced” players

At the time, the Texans didn’t have Stroud. They drafted him after Slowik was hired. But I’m sure Slowik understood he’d have one of the top two quarterbacks in the draft. I wonder how he would have done with Bryce Young?

    Talk about extreme.

But hey, you seem to like the way the Canada experiment turned out, that went swell.

Did he ever even have an interview with the Steelers? Wonder just how serious they were about hiring him. But thats a big name off the list. This is why fans are getting antsy, we’re going to watch names being snatched up while we have barley interviewed anyone.

So yeah, wouldn’t be surprised if your prediction comes true.

Steelers wanted to interview him but it never happened. Eagles just hired Kellen Moore, not that the Steelers had an interest but he’s another creative offensive mind off the board. Are the Steelers holding out for Kubiak? The longer this goes on the fewer quality candidates there will be to choose from and the Steelers will end up settling I’m afraid.

Kubiak interviewed with the Saints so Im not sure why the Steelers wouldnt have at least requested an interview but then again we just might not be hearing about it. He would definitely be someone to get excited about.

Probably end up with Jerod Johnson who has never held an OC position at any level or called any plays and only has 4 years coaching under his belt.

Frank Reich perhaps? Jim Caldwell is old but I like him a lot in terms of no-nonsense. I would honestly consider Haley if there weren't bad blood. I think someone who will get into Pickett's face when he misses wide open touchdown throws would probably do him some good.

We haven't hired coordinators well for years. Not really getting my hopes up that we are going to nail this hire.

At this point they should hire Darrell Bevell he has experience calling plays in the NFL.

And the Panthers let it be known they were going to draft Young, at the time either one of them were considered a better prospect than Pickett.

It was the bears who had the first overall pick at this time when the texans hire their OC a bit after they hire Ryan as head coach....The trade was made in march

Thomas was let go by the Panthers so the Steelers will probably be announcing him as the OC any minute.

I’ll admit Im a little low key excited by it because people in the know are being told he’s got a great offensive mind, even calling him a genius. My problem with that though is it sounds a lot like what you heard about Canada. The big difference between those two though is Thomas cut his teeth in the NFL where as Canada cut his in college.

Still hoping Kubiak is the target.
