This will put your mind at ease. He’s hands down the best name that has been mentioned so far. The only downside is nothing from the Steeles suggests that they are interested, it came from Peter King.

But not every OC that doesn’t have experience becomes great and more than likely does not. Like I said, at least Robinson has studied under McVay. Johnsons claim to fame is working with an uber talented QB. Ooo pinch me.

You’re not only trying to salvage a 1st rd pick this coming season but also trying to not waste another season of Watts best days. They don’t have time to **** around.

And no every OC who have experience become good or great!

Who would be your top 3-5 candidates possible for this job?

I’m pretty high on Kingsbury. Also like Pep Hamilton and of course Kubiak. A name I have been digging into is Bevell, I like what he brings. Focus on run game with down field passing, chunk plays.

I’m not saying I will hate any candidate that doesn’t have experience but the pedigree has to be there. The guy Johnson they just interviewed does nothing for me.

And Brown might actually be a good candidate from what I have been listening to. Thought of around the league as an offensive genius that was in a terrible situation. Reich was jerking him a round, Oline was a mess, injuries at QB, behind the scenes a mess with people being fired left and right. Thats not a conducive environment for success.

Thanks for updating your post as each new candidate are announced. This really helps for no need to make thread after thread of each tone a new candidate is announced

Any chance some of these interviews are for the QB or RB positions? The last couple of candidates didn't have any experience at the OC Position in NFL or College.

One thing Tomlin made clear is that the new OC will have experience as an OC or Head Coach. This will not be a rookie Coach on his first job of being in charge of the offense. Do we really want Tomlin trying to train a wet behind the ear kid that has ZERO experience of being in charge of anything?

I wanted Bobby Slowik last year but Tomlin inexplicably decided to stick with Canada. Slowik did a phenomenal job with Stroud and the Texans offense.

It helps the coach when he has a player of Stroud's caliber.

He called them in the playoff game they won against the Steelers with Baker Mayfield. Remember, Stefanski couldn't be there because he had COVID.

Well actually no, it won’t. Notice how I said 10 personnel? I said nothing about their rushing statistics. Maybe I’m just old school, but I want a te on the field. I like 11, 12, 13, 22. All of which have a tight end on the field and at times two or even three

No disputing that. What Slowik has done the last two years with his work with two first year quarterbacks (Purdy and Stroud) has been quite impressive.

I hope not. Jerrod Johnson has only been a full position coach for 1 year in the NFL with Houston last year. Before that it looked like he had a couple of internships and was Assistant something or another before 2023.

This is about as bad as it can get for an Experienced OC candidate.

EDIT: Now if they hire Mike Munchak to come in and being the Assistant Head coach, I will be on board with them hiring whatever young and inexperienced coach they want to try out at OC. :)

Maybe read it instead of scanning it. He didn’t have a TE worth using when he got to Arizona but once Ertz showed up he used him plenty.

The rushing was covered because thats another bs myth about him.

For what it’s worth. I don’t put much stock into what Dulac reports and he was talking to Madden which just sullies his name even further.

Wouldn’t surprise me though if Peter King pulled the Kingsbury news from his ass.

Sometimes I think I get more accurate info by coming to this board and getting the thoughts and opinions of the other board members than I do by reading articles from mainstream sports journalists. Sports journalism (and all journalism really) has become a joke!

Like I posted on here before I could've called the plays for the Browns that game, if the opponent is going give my team 5 turnovers.
