Is that the one where Ben stood near the goal line looking down at the ball waiting for someone else to pick it up

Yes, I guess he had to check with Mike about picking it up.

Well you can’t really but does that stuff happen because the practices are not serious enough with emphasizing the importance to detail? Are the players overconfident? Are they too lazy? These are not excuses though.

Point to ponder. What would the Steelers legacy be if they had been one and done in the 70’s. Just something to think about.

Exactly why would anyone want to spend time thinking about that

Oh I don't know..maybe it relates to playoff failure in some form or fashion. Now there's something for you to think about.

    Agreed

    Complacency breeds mediocrity.

True there's no denying down years happen to everyone. I think it's just the consistent missteps and wasted years and talent that's been the result that's so hard to stomach.

But the anti tomlin talking points aren't restricted to just people that didn't want him as the head coach in the first. I for one had never heard of him until he got with the steelers and enjoyed and liked mike early on. But i for one realized some things that turned me off of him quite a bit early on and yes they are a lot of the parroted points your probably thinking of but that doesn't mean some of them aren't true.

I didn't say I was complacent. Just meaning that the complacency of being happy with what's been the norm can lead to mediocrity

These guys are ridiculous. Tomlin isn’t setting a goal of non losing seasons or mediocrity. He’s coming up short and that’s a problem for sure, but to suggest that Tomlin and Rooney are satisfied with the product right now is just dumb.
The non losing seasons thing is an impressive achievement and worthy of note , but it’s not the overall goal for any Steelers fan or the Steelers organization.
Tomlin is a good coach. He’s just not good at getting the results the Steelers need anymore for whatever reason. IMO it’s time for a change.

Now for the real problem around here:
I get that this is a message board, but that doesn’t mean we need 200 threads on Tomlin from the 10-12 people who can’t function without Tomlin in their life.
Pick a thread and go nuts. But for the love of God please stop turning every stinking thread into your personal war on Tomlin.

Of course this is all just my opinion.

Yeah pretty much. 3 Tomlin, one outmatched, one combo.

Always out coached by NE. Had players saying they were looking for revenge on NE prior to the Jax game (clear evidence of overlooking). JuJu's "Browns is the Browns" comment the same for the Browns game. Teams that are locked in don't have multiple players doing this crap before a playoff game. KC was just better.

Well prepared teams don't have stuff like that happen. How often did the Pats look like garbage out of the gate? How often do you see the calamity of errors on Andy Reid's KC teams? They're just more buttoned up that we have been.

It's one thing to lose a game (even a game we are favored in). Its a whole other thing to not even show up until we're so far down that the game is nearly already over. It would be an anomaly if it happened once.... not 4 out of the last 5 playoff games. That is called a trend.

Steelers are stuck in a ‘finish middle, draft middle’ cycle and will be until they find a QB that can elevate the team around him

Even when they had Ben he laid a few massive eggs in the playoffs

I’ll admit I shouldn’t drag Tomlin into every post however the way I see it until we get rid of him nothing else matters. It’s like the head of a snake you have to cut off the head to kill it. The draft the OC Free Agency I mean it’s nice to talk about however as long as he is here what does it matter? The results will be the same because as SG pointed out this isn’t a one off anomaly this is the new standard! I’m just so damn sick of it every year.

Yep. I must be speculating that MT is just not an elite NFL coach. His playoff record is probably imaginary to me.

I recognize that chair. It’s Chuck Noll’s from the 1970’s and where he drew up our game plans. MT sits in it every week drawing up the same plays.
