    it's not that hard - I'd say within 15 - 20 QB's.

just get out the keyboard and start typing. it will come to you....

Give him a REAL OC, and a YEAR / OFFSEASON of prep, a REAL C and REAL LT and watch out.....

I haven't given up on Pickett. I still think he has a chance to be a solid starter. We cant forget that when he got hurt the Steelers were 7-4 and Pickett was coming off his best game as a starter.

This is why the Steelers are going to go back to Pickett. The problem is that the team played significantly better with Rudolph.

With Rudolph the offense finally has an identity. Pound the rock and throw the ball downfield. With Pickett, it's jet sweeps and 5 yard check downs.

Rudolph needs to go somewhere where he can get his shot. He has earned it. It's not going to be Pittsburgh

I'm always at a standoff with myself when it comes to Mason.
After 6 years, I don't think he's going to suddenly blossom into Peyton Manning.
But I do think if he, for example, went to SF, I think he would be pretty good.

We had Matt Canada. That guy has left a black mark on our offense.
I could easily subscribe to an OC coming in and suddenly some of the players we think are bad, become decent.
Yet at the same time, maybe they become worse.

I guess with the coaching staff in question, maybe it's better to move on.
Flip a coin seems to be the best answer.

He's just not very dynamic IMO. Agree that he has arm talent and showed a lot of improvement in his poise, but I don't see him as the game changer that you need in today's NFL.

The offensive line was terrible in pass protection yesterday so not using that game as an indictment on him.

Also have seen enough of Kenny to conclude he doesn't bring enough either. Whether it be the draft (hard at 20 - See Kenny) or a veteran, there is lots of room for improvement.

Before Mason came in and after we lost to the bottom of the League I was hoping we’d lose the rest of the games!

Why, we had no chance to win the SB AND we would have a top ten pick throughout the draft …… We could get a GREAT RT ( and move our stud RT back to LT ) and Draft a Stud Center…… and so-on…..

point being a SB caliber OL …..

Since they put Mason in I was pulling for him to show well!!! He’s been nothing but a pure class act, Great teammate and capable NFL QB!! #1 or #2 he has shown the ability to succeed and deserves more than a relegated bench role as a forgotten #3 .

Hope he makes a big paycheck and lives his best life, then does his Life’s Work!!

I think there is a reason why the team runs differently with Pickett than it does with Rudolph. Pickett can't throw the deep ball with any accuracy or touch. He can make 10 yard throws just fine, but when it comes to actually throwing down field, can't do it. Defenses know this too, which is why almost every down teams put 10 men within 5 yards of the LOS. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I think a HUGE issue with Pickett is his instance on wearing those stupid gloves! You can not throw a ball with any kind of feel or touch wearing gloves. If you could, you would see baseball players wearing them in the outfield to throw. Hell, you would see more QBs wear them. There is a reason big boys don't wear gloves to throw.

Rudolph has been with the Steelers long enough to know that with Tomlin, he doesn't have a fair shot at being the starter. Unless the Steelers offer him something crazy (which I highly doubt they will) he is going to test the free agent market. Problem is, I don't think there are a lot of landing spots for him

we are in the Lost Decade, I have stated that numerous times.

    sorry, but brace yourself.

Tomlin and Pickett is a recipe for NOTHING but frustration.

After watching Ramon getting Big Al to open up and have some fun on his show today, I can't wait to see what he can do with Mason Rudolph tomorrow on Thursday. To me Mason has always been a very quiet guy with not much personality. I hope Ramon can drag some stories out of him, and maybe some hints about his future.

Someone, I don't know where I heard it, suggested Mason could get a $30mil contract.
I am torn, laughing and puking is not a good state to be in.

I am not much of a Podcast follower. But I will check this out. Mason seems like a pretty straightedge guy. I'm not sure he gives us much.

So Mason should run from the Steelers when the only reason he was still on the team is because he put himself out there on the FA market and got no interest from any of the other teams? Hold Tomlin to his coach-speak in the press about there being an open competition when any idiot should’ve seen that Kenny was being groomed for the job as their first round pick?

    what?

what is the grooming BS anyhow? Tomlin has failed him thus far - w Canaduh!

kenny has been groomed and we have little to show for it. he may just not have 'it'

mason did not either - until about week 13, 2023. Now - there are buds of life.

me neither - but that does not mean it is the right decision. The BIG Q is: does he even want to be here. Hope that Kahn is having warm discussions with he and his agent.

Time will tell on ALL of these decisions, in a few years.

I am tired of not winning playoff games. (and barely sqeeking in when we do get in) and I don't want to hear about the Jets or or all of the other lousy organizations out there - yes, I (we) are spoiled and I'd like to see better.

This is not toward you but to others that seem content with being 'content'.

Yes to playoff games I think we all are

Regarding content no one here is content some just respond to the repetitive dribble and get accused of this that and anything

I would disagree. Some are content with the status quo - afraid to blow things up. dong the same thing over and over again, the insanity definition, sticking with Tomlin, yadda yadda yadda.

Now - going BIG with an OC is a BIG change. But we will see.

No one has signed yet. Rooney's wallet is still full.

    we will see.....

”Groom” as in prepare/train to be the obvious successor to the position.

The insistence on scapegoating the coaching for any and everything that goes wrong is crazy to me. Did you not see Mason come in cold off of the bench and look decent with no real preparation under the same scheme using the same playbook? Did you not see the open receivers, missed reads and inaccurate throws in every one of Kenny’s games?

The tough part is that he was billed as “NFL ready”.

It is fun when you fit so much wrong into such short posts. Rudolph didn't take the time to see if anyone was open on that interception. It was a quick throw. That was his first or second read, and he read it poorly.

No, the defense was not leaky and unprepared in the 2008 playoffs and Super Bowl XLIII. They gave up 20.3 points per game, but that was only because the Chargers scored two meaningless touchdowns in the fourth quarter after trailing by 18 with just over nine minutes remaining. The defense dominated the Ravens most of the AFC Championship game, then clinched it with Polamalu's interception return for a touchdown. They were merely good in the playoffs, but that was against a Cardinals' offense that had made some damn good defenses look bad on its way to the game.
