Agree. At the time, Bush looked like a good candidate to replace Shazier. The Steelers grabbed him at 10. To get that pick, they traded their #20 pick and their #59 pick. In hindsight it was a horrible trade. At the time, it made sense IMO.

Wasn’t aware Canton had a regular season only section of the hall. Because that dude couldn’t be further away from the hall in the games that really matter.

Even before Bush was injured, I didn't really see enough in him that told me he was worth trading up for. I guess they were desperate to find a guy with speed to replace Shazier, but I doubt if he would've ever been anywhere as good

He had a solid rookie season and was on his way to a very good if not great second year, then the wheels fell off.

Well, I guess we'll never know now, but I never saw in him the playmaking ability that Shazier had

    :hmm:

    Umm....

I thought it was well known that post 2018, Kevin Colbert simply wasn't drafting well to begin with. Realistically speaking and, as I said before, the drafts from 2019-2022 have been nothing short of an entire organizational failure. The results clearly reflect that.

2021 just might be the most egregious of them all. Najee Harris is a great person but only a good running back, Pat Freiermuth simply isn't being used right and has not been used properly since his Rookie Season and Kendrick Green is arguably the biggest bust in Steelers History as far as Offensive Players go. 2019 and 2020 at least gave us Diontae and Highsmith respectively but the rest of the picks were simply not good enough to just flat out disappointments. The biggest takeaway from the article though is something I do agree with; Colbert's final years focused too extensively on need over BPA. In Round One, both are essential. However, if the need outweighs the BPA... that is where it can lead to problems.

Drafting Green in the 3rd round who was a guard, and trying to make him into a center was a real head scratcher. I mean, was the 2021 draft really that thin at center that they felt like they had to do that? Never made any sense to me, and we saw the unfortunate results

Leave Rooneys alone, pretty much last of the family owned and even they have changed bringing in investors some years ago. Still, bout the only thing that makes us different from the rest especially nowadays.

    Not willing to go there.

2021 isn't the most egregious at all, they got two productive players who are worthy of being re-signed, yeah Green was a bust.

The draft is often blind luck, you scout and do research, but nearly half of 1st round picks are out right busts or never fulfil that status. The cost of trading up can be very negative, 49's traded a boatload of picks to get the unknown from North Dakota and it did not work, but got Purdy in the 7th round. It was not genius that got him there, if it was the same genius would have to call himself stupid for the 1st QB, lol. Omar made a shifty move last year, then more and we seemingly got great picks. I hope the magic vontinues.

I agree, the argument has been made on many posts about creed in the 2nd instead of Muth. Hindsight is always better, and Muth has his challenges, but it still was a good pick. IDK if Green will amount to much in Houston or anywhere, but I actually feel for the guy. As a pick he was a bust, but the thought of making him a C, without any real experience was pretty insane, with proper coaching and right scheme he may have or even will develop into even a reliable back up, but 3rd round was certainly a miss.

BTW - it's always been Rooney - the new Rooney, and not Tomlin per se.

when you stink at work and your owner keeps you, whose fault is that? your OWNERS!

you will GLADLY stick around and keep collecting checks.....
