The Jets are where QB's go to die... :)
They are QB killers. I like Mason too much to see him wind up in that mess.
Indy and the Raiders are interesting.

This board cracks me up. Everyone saying... He's not good enough. He's mid-range. No one was interested. last year. He's a statue no one wants a statue QB. But let's take him back and give him a chance at starting.

Indy. No, they have Richardson and they are looking for a big arm and athleticism. They are moving away from good quarterbacks, and are into athletes.
    Raiders. They are a mess.
Jets have Rodgers and Rodgers likes Zach Wilson. That is the duo for the next year.

Browns and Bengals draft QBs like Rudolph, and appreciate good QB, they are potential destinations. Mason's played better than the QBs they have.
Pats are similar, and Bills could be looking for Allen's backup.
In the west, only the Broncos because they are looking to stabilize QB position with someone who can execute Payton's game plan.
In the south, Jags potentially as a backup to Lawrence. He could even take the job from Lawrence there. He played better than Lawrence this year.

    NFC East
Giants. No, they like erratic quarterbacks.
Eagles, I don't think there is money there and they need an athletic QB.
Cowboys, potentially would be a good spot.
Commanders, no, they are a mess.

    NFC North
Minny, I think they will roll with Cousins, and that is a potential spot for a backup role.
    Lions, same as Minny.

Bears, will pick #1 overal and do not want controversy.
    Packers, they groom their won.

    NFC South
Tampa, potentially, they are similar to Stealers, they should have insurance for Baker.
Saints, potentially, they have been struggling with a QB, Mason is better than Carr.

Falcons, potentially, their QB spot is not settled, but new coach may not be willing to hitch his legacy to Mason signing.
Panthers, I don't think they are looking for a QB.

    NFC West
Seattle, probably no, they have some QBs there. Although, Mason is better than Geno.
SF, No. They are after a scrambling QB.
Rams. That would be a good spot. Mason has played better than Stafford, Stafford is older. They know QBs, and they drafted a similar QB in Goff.
Arizona, who knows?! They are a mess.

Personally I think the Steelers should kick him a decent contract and make him QB1 going into camp. Threw 21td and 4 Int coming straight off the bench in 4 games.

I think he lands in Pittsburgh. I also think the idea that he hates or is bitter towards the Steelers organization is either inaccurate, or wildly overblown.

By you people that think there was not fair competition, like I said 8 weeks ago
Bring in a competent OC next year and may the best man win. I don't think MR is
Coming back since he and others like you think he was so badly treated.

I literally said that I don't think think Mason feels bitter towards, nor very likely even thinks he was unjustly treated by rhe Steelers, and if there is any resentment, it's probably only very minor. I used to be more of the opinion that the organization was purposefully shifting Mason because they just didn't like him for some reason, but I've since come around to the idea that him getting stuck at QB3 wasn't by any kind of design, but was rather just the unlucky culmination of a series of unfortunate events and iffy business decisions that were far beyond his control. And I think that's more than likely how he views the situation, as well...which is also one of the reasons why I think there's actually more of a chance that he'll get return next year than a lot of people currently think.

Sure you do. Whenever he was given a chance when #7 got hurt that was an evaluation.Everyday in practice is an evaluation. No poor old Mason was screwed.

That is what was the most impressive about Mason's play. I'll admit I was not one of the play Mason guys, however, you can not discount what he stepped in and did. He took that time he was shunned and worked on the details of his game. He was cool as a cucumber in the pocket and progressed through his reads. He's matured and it showed. It's one thing to step in early in the season and show flashes of good football like a lot of these fringe QBs did this year, but it is later in the season that teams know what they have and what works best. He played very well against Buffalo and that was a VERY HOSTILE environment. Also, he did this without having a great offensive game plan, or elite O scheme.

It's a shame the way our QB situation was handled. It's also a shame that Mason will most likely not be back. I can't say I'd blame him. He outperformed every QB on the team and still can't get the nod going into next season as QB1, even though he saved Tomlin's ass.

I would be shocked if he got an offer from another team as a starter.
Maybe a couple of lowball backup offers at best. One from the Steelers probably.

Mitch first signed a 2 year $27 million contract. (With Incentives.)
Mitch just signed a 3 year $33 million contract to be the backup QB. (With Incentives.)

Is Mason going to ask for about the same as Mitch got? And will Kenny be upset if he is not the highest paid QB on the team?

Tbh, I don't know what the heck you're even trying to communicate to me at this point, but that's okay. You seem like a very special person - and hey, that's okay, too ;)

Mason’s play has definitely earned him the opportunity to compete with Kenny for the job.

This is going to be unpopular, but I also think that Mason’s play is getting a little overblown. How many other QBs had a good stretch this season and got over-hyped. There was a point where people were mad we let Josh Dobbs go (because of his success in a few games).

Seattle and Cincinnati are the 2nd and 3rd worst defenses in the league, respectively. Baltimore didn’t have to win and I am sure that impacted the game (resting starters, looking ahead to the playoffs, etc).

Because the alternative is Kenny Pickett and he blows. Watching Mason down the stretch who is average at best only reconfirms that. Pickett is a deer in headlights who gets happy feet within 2 seconds of dropping back and can’t read a defense. Could he get better? I suppose it’s possible. I’d say it’s a 5% chance he improves into a legit starting QB next year regardless of who the OC is.

As far as starting there aren’t a lot of places. Denver I guess.

I think there’s a decent chance he comes back to the Steelers despite the history. Let’s not forget every other team in the league had a chance to sign him and no one did. My guess is he comes back with a hybrid backup/starter salary around $8-10 million a year. With Pickett still on his rookie deal, the Steelers can afford that for now.

Plus Rudolph knows, despite what the HC and front office have to say about Pickett, that there’s a decent chance Rudolph will be the starter in Pittsburgh.

Based on Tomlin's comments, he will get an offer from the Steelers. That may be as their No. 2. It may be to come in and compete with Pickett for the job. Even if he doesn't trust them to give him that opportunity, isn't Pittsburgh still a better option than somewhere that he has no chance to be the starter like Buffalo, Cincinnati, or Jacksonville?

Atlanta comes up pretty high on the list if Bill gets that gig. Reportedly likes MR, they have good weapons, and while a high draft QB is expected to be ready, as with Minchew this year it could be an advantage for both MR and the falcons. I know the dream is still there, but MR see his market as a valuable back up, prove that and he can set himself very well for life.

It could be that much, but likely 3 to 5 million on the open market, I think the added value will be in potential bonus money..aka if he gets so many starts, etc.

It doesn't really matter to me where Rudolph goes if he isn't here. He can go to the Toronto Argonauts for all I care

I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up in that range. I think $10 million is high, but some team could look at those last three regular-season games and overpay.

People can overlook a lot of bitterness for enough Benjamins,..... Offer me a couple of million dollars a year and a lot of things I would normally never consider move into the 'why not?' category.....lol.... He is around 1 million a year now. If he gets a bump into that 3 to 5 million a year range, he won't have any problem overlooking any animosity he has.

I know, but I think the idea is to see who are we potentially competing against in free agency for Mason's services.

I doubt any of those teams would be after Rudolph as a starter, some teams might be interested in him as depth, Rudolph was treated so bad he got to start a playoff game over a healthy Pickett .
