If he doesn’t get an extension then Tomlin is officially on notice.

Thanks Cam, you couldn't play 3 downs ever series in a playoff game after missing a **** ton of the season. Time for him to hang it up anyway. If that was our game plan to rotate him out all the time that was pretty dumb since it was heavily exploited.

You never know… There’s a chance Tomlin has told Rooney he wants to honor his contract and coach next season, then step away.

In this scenario he’s not a lame duck coach and we’d know there’s no extension on the horizon. Players would likely play their asses off for him.

I’m not saying this is how it’ll play out, but it would kind of appease both sides of people wanting Tomlin to stay or go.

If we could get two firsts for Tomlin I would pull that trigger in two seconds. Why not, that could change your team for a decade along with our own picks and some key free agent pick ups. We need to be bold but alas we won't, he gets three more years, we burn up TJ and Minkah he leaves and we have the mess to fix. Come on ART even Stevie Wonder can see we have to make a change!!!

No we can suffer in silence or be very vocal about it. Just sucks balls to have an overwhelming feeling we will be in the same place again next year. Well you are getting what you want for a January present. I would trade him for two firsts and maybe even trade cam for some picks and rebuild much more quickly since we have many needs. Maybe even move DJ for a pick or two and as well since we historically have been able to find many many WR's over the years.

Name one coach who’s been fired with a 63% win rate having just finished a 10-7 season and made the playoffs.

Mike McCarthy might be joining him, Siriani might be joining him, but regardless if their numbers are not the same, what is the team goal. As Stephen A said if we were talking about any other coach with his lack of playoff success the narrative would be different. We are being smoked in the playoffs and the team keeps failing. You want to ride him for another 3-5 years? You are a believer and that's ok but there are many that say it is time to go the message is falling flat and at the end of the day post season success is how you are judged.

Mike McCarthy went 12-5 this season and is probably going to get fired.

Trade him and if its to a great place maybe he will be willing to go. Philly or Dallas or Washington.

Honestly, if this surprises you, you haven't been paying attention to how the Steelers roll. I want Tomlin gone, and have for years, but I and others have said repeatedly that he'd be back. He likes being head coach of the Steelers and the owner likes having him. Beyond that, the Steelers simply do not fire head coaches. Art Rooney is far more interested in planning his next trip to Ireland than he is in how the team he owns performs. Been true for a long time.

There have been no rumors of the Steelers looking for a new OC and I think that plays into this

If Tomlin does not take/get an extension I anticipate Faulkner getting a one year contract to continue as OC

Then the ducks are in a row

Guess we can still hope that Rooney has had enough of the winless playoff drought.

They won’t can him with a year left on his contract but the Glazer trade report is still a possibility.

If not, SSDS (courtesy of @AskQuestionsLater )

You have a struggling QB on a downward spiral and an OC who never called plays in his life besides 4 games. This would be an epic disaster on all levels. And it’s something the Rooney’s would def do…lol

My god ! Do the fans a favor and just walk away from the game ! We know you aren't winning a Superbowl next year if you return ! He should of been fired 10 years ago !!!
