Honestly I don't really care for Rainey. His off the field issues coming into the draft were a concern for me.

He didn't even really impress me on the field this year either... I don't know why he was on the field so much, he looks very average. He is quick, but doesn't have the extra gear to be considered anything special.

Pouncey vouched for Rainey and Gilbert, so far these guys aren't cutting it.

I thought "Ugh" was the best response to this thread until I read this.

    Talk about all hype.

Rainey seems like nothing more than a Stefan Logan clone. Quick and fast but not strong enough to make anything happen. Goes down with the first fingertip on a shoestring. Fumble-prone. Injury-prone. What did he really gives us this year that we couldn't have gotten from any other guy like him in the league?

Chris Rainey is easily replacable. If there are character issues, launch him.

Oh boy. This doesn't bode well for Rainey, he already has a bad history. Steelers really need to do stronger evaluations on the players they are drafting.

But Burfict had off the field problems, keeps his nose cleasn ( so far) and we can't even sign him as an undrafted free agent.

Police statement issued on Rainey's arrest:

    "Thursday, January 10, 2013
    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    Related CR# 13-669

GAINESVILLE, FLA – At approximately 8:26am on January 10th, 2013, the Gainesville Police Department received a 911 call from a witness that reported a male subject and a female subject involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical.

Officers arrived and identified Christopher J. Rainey, BM 3/2/88 as the male involved. Witnesses told officers that Rainey and the victim got into an argument over Rainey’s cellphone. The female victim entered the vehicle of Rainey’s roommate, and Rainey confronted her on the passenger side of the vehicle, and began pulling her out of the vehicle. Witnesses then observed Rainey slap the victim across the face with an open hand. Both Rainey and the female victim then fell to the ground. The victim was able to run away, but Rainey chased after her because his cellphone was in a bag the victim was carrying. Rainey grabbed the bag again, and they both fell to the ground again. Neither party suffered visible injuries from the encounter. Multiple witnesses confirmed the incident.

The investigation revealed that Rainey and the female victim have been in a dating relationship for approximately nine months. Rainey was ultimately arrested by the Gainesville Police Department and charged with one count of Simple Battery (Dating Violence.) Rainey was transported to the Alachua County Jail for booking."

Thing about Burfcit is he had issues ON the field, I don't seem to recall anything OFF the field. I believe he was actually a pretty good student and what not????

Brufict is just uber competitive, but he focused his energy in the wrong way....if he could be with a mentor like Ray Lewis,Mike Singletary, or Ronnie Lot I think that is all he needs. It looks like he might be getting that mentorship from Marvin Lewis.

I liked his highlight reel online, it was really his NFL combine process and him being too raw that made me second guess him.

I didnt mean the Bengals this off season, I meant the Bengals of old, when every off season someone was arrested and in jail. But the bengals did have a player get arrested the day after the loss to the texans last weekend.

Its disgusting. His on the field performance was minimal, quick but goes down when a LBers gets within breathing distance. So I'm not a big fan of his but had high hopes he'd get better. Now he can just go. If the Skins can get Morris in the 6th we can replace him easily.

My issue with him is he slapped a women. No need to go there, ever.

Actually a second year safety for the Bungles got arrested last week for Domestic violence but that still doesn't stop the fact that the Steelers are indeed turning into the Bungles.

The problem is that none of these punks ever had a parent (mostly father figure) that would instill discipline and woop their ass at times when they would do stupid things.

Cut every player with a crimnal record right now. If I get in trouble I become unemployed. Why the difference?

crazy to think, but in april after the draft, the one person everyone really had concerns with was Mike Adams. And so far he's been the prize in this draft other than Decastro. Tomlin, or somebody needs to step up and talk to these young guys and put his foot down or do something. And this is just an observation, but is it just me or does it seem that when a steeler gets arrested that every news outlet out there reports it. Chris Rainey made tmz today? He wasn't a starter, a big name, or anything and TMZ reported it. Tmz is usually reporting things with actors, singers, and such, and some big name athletes. But never a 4th string rookie running back.

In this world of media we live in if these guys so much blink wrong then it can make news. Steelers or not, it doesn't matter. I just can't understand why they don't get that. TMZ just tries to be the first to report it. Don't blame the source blame the irresponsible idiot.
