Tomlin could walk away from the Steelers and take some time off

    Absolutely not

That's just the tinfoil hat brigade who would rather believe a conspiracy rather than common sense

Tomlin moving on is getting a lot of chatter on social media today, lot of reports. I’m starting to think this is actually going to happen.

Or one person had a random thought out loud and the masses are running with it

I’ve seen this movie too many times before

I simply asked why people dislike a guy that has set records and kept our team relevant for nearly two decades. I was then mocked and called an apologist and something about his jock. So yes, I punch back. Now people clutch their perils about civility and respect. NOPE

This all started with a close friend of his. And this isn’t the Steelers firing Tomlin, it’s him just wanting to do something else. That’s more plausible. I can see him doing a year in the studio to recharge his batteries and then come back in 2025.

    Who randomly said “could”

    Nothing more

No suggestion of any actual thoughts by Tomlin

And if he is a close friend would he destroy that friendship by sharing confidential thoughts nope

This is just conspiracy theory fodder

I’m going to shove this thought into a dusty gray cell

When the sun comes back out in April I’ll see if the solar cells reboot it

You can tell that Tomlin's overall demeaner is different this year, he just looks and sounds burned out. I don't put much stock into these rumors flying around, but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if he calls a quit. The longer he stays in the game, the more tarnished his legacy will become IMO

Very true. My point about finding another long term coach was more along the lines of lighting striking three times, what are the chances of it striking a 4th time in a row? We can all probably agree the Steelers will be more patient with a new coach than any other team. I hope whatever formula they have been using since picking Noll does it again.

Apparently Troy has read some of the negative stuff.

Why it's smart business on Rooney's part. You don't get a job for life in the NFL so perhaps he was considering a change but Rooney also said if I recall don't read too much into that!

I don’t live there but you have to love Cali, they pay about 40% of the countries bills. Never smack a gift horse in the mouth lol

Of the 3 Steeler coaches in my lifetime, MT is my least favorite. As critical as I have been of him, fact is there isn’t much out there to hire better than him.

this is where 'we don't know'

the next great coach is out there, several of them are. they are not head coaching right now, but they will be HC's in the next 5 years. we can go back over the past 10 years and identify who came out of nowhere and where they are today. they are many very good ones. and we need GREAT coordinators too - OPEN THE WALLET ROONEY

If you remember Kevin Colbert stopped getting contract extensions and started going year to year and that was his choice

    Maybe Tomlin did the same

And You have away of not answering questions. You seem to like having a way out. LoL. It's a conspiracy if the owner tells the HC to play a certain player, but somehow You dang well know if Rooney tells Tomlin to play KFP tomorrow....KFP will be playing. LoL. And we both Know Tomlin would not say .....Well Rooney told Me to. That's not what HCs do.

You know, I just don't see Tomlin being that interesting in the broadcast booth. I could be wrong though, we'll see

And that has nothing to do with what I posted

Go back and read my post and read the one I responded to see if you can follow the logic
