Art II said today the team is around $10 million over right now.

    10 largest salaries for 2012:

    1. Troy Polamalu: $6.3 million
    2. James Harrison: $5.8 million
    3. Larry Foote: $3 million
    4. Ryan Clark: $3 million
    5. Brett Kiesel: $2.8 million
    6. Casey Hampton: $2.8 million
    7. Mike Wallace $2.7 million
    8. Rashard Mendenhall: $1.8 million
    9. Shaun Suisham: 1.4 million
    10. Will Allen: $1.3 million and Ramon Foster: $1.3 million

    * Ben Roethlisberger, LaMarr Woodley, Lawrence Timmons, Willie Colon, and Ike Taylor took "cuts" to between $900k and $700k.

    10 largest salaries for 2013:

    1. Ben Roethlisberger: $11.6 million
    2. Lamarr Woodley: $9 million
    3. Troy Polamalu: $7.5 million
    4. James Harrison: $6.6 million
    5. Ike Taylor: $6 million
    6. Willie Colon: $5.5 million
    7. Lawrence Timmons: $5.4 million
    8. Heath Miller: $5.1 million
    9. Ryan Clark: $3.5 million
    10. Brett Keisel: $2.8 million

Cutting Harrison and Colon (would put $5.6 million on next season's cap, if I'm getting this right, because of signing bonuses due), not resigning Mendenhall, Wallace, and Clark, and Casey retiring would free up about $17 million, I believe.

Shrinking Troy and Heath's contracts like they did with those other guys last year would help, too.

if you cut colon after 1 june you can spread in two years the dead money , would be nice to trade him and have a pick in his place , at least you have something back for that milion dead

Under circumstances where they could afford to give Heath a raise, I would agree, but under these, a restructure is what is needed. That doesn't mean he won't get his money.

No one is going to trade for Willie. He's a 30 year old G with a history of injury problems and a big contract.
