Unless Leonard Floyd of Buffalo has 9 sacks tonight, TJ will become the first person to officially lead the league in sacks three times. He has to get to five to reach the unofficial record by Deacon Jones in the 60s, before sacks were an official stat.

 

I actually heard someone on the panel this morning on the NFL Network say that TJ should be the favorite to win the DPOY.

 

Well earned indeed for T.J.!!!


Definitely a noteworthy accomplishment since sacks became an Official Stat in 1982. I get that having the most sacks does not beget DPOY automatically as there are other factors. That said, few have been as dominant as him this season.

 

If you look at other statistics like pressures, forced fumbles, etc it makes his case for DPOY even more solid. The fact he's not the odds on favorite is absurd. We made the playoffs, and Watt single handedly won us at least one or two games.. not sure what else you need to win.

 

I guess He should bash players on the head with a helmet, and more people would talk him up.

 

Apparently, you have to play for the Browns or Cowboys

 

According to Browns fans you need to lead in pressure win rate, or whatever that stat is called they use to talk up Garrett.

 

Garrett was a ghost for like 6 of the last 7 games this year. He started out red hot and then got shut down.

 

But the national sports media is all about promoting Jussie Garrett.

 

That's all I hear from the pundits. But the pundits also said Pickett had a fit when he wasn't starting in Seattle and that Watt had a grade 3 mcl sprain, and they were wrong both times.
