    I didn't think he'd ever come back.

It will be interesting to see if he has the same style or if he's adapted with the game and tries to implement more of a high powered passing offence.

I'm a fan of Tomlin, but I gotta admit, if we have another 8-8 season... Cowher might look pretty enticing.

When Cowher retired Iwas sure he'd coach again. Now I'm not so sure. And the longer he waits, he's already been out 6 yrs, the less of a hot commodity he is.

Buffalo just hired a guy with a career .500 record in the Big East... something tells me Cowher wouldn't have much of a problem finding work.

Does no one remember the "Fire Cowher" threads on the old board? Sheesh.

I'm sure he can get "a" job, if he wants. But the longer he stays out the less likely he gets to pick his spot.

The second he throws his hat back in the ring, any team that is looking for a head coach will be knocking on his door.

I'd be interested to see that too.

Would personally love to see him finish up in the NCAA so that he'd always be remembered as a Steeler coach.

I wonder how much this organization would welcome him back IF there was an opening.

By all accounts, he was rather unfriendly with people in the organization, he butted heads with Erhart, he chased Donahoe away, he had an affair with a Steelers employee . . .

Every fan base in the NFL wants Cowher. The latest rumors are the Bears.

This may be selfish of me, but I dont want to see cowher on any other sideline but Pittsburgh. And by that, I dont mean I want tomlin gone or anything. But Im 25 years old, my entire steeler fan memories have either Bill Cowher or Mike Tomlin on the sidelines. Cowher had so much success here in Pittsburgh, and I dont want to see him any where else. I like that he retired from us and wasnt fired like most coaches. He went out on his terms, and Im not saying he would fail, but I dont want to see him go somewhere and ruin his legacy he built in Pittsburgh. You see him on TV every sunday and to me, he still is Pittsburgh, he's blue collar, he's the chin, he can be mean, but inspiring at the same time. Just would be to weird to see him anywhere else. Kinda like your parents getting a divorce, and your dad getting a new girlfriend, just too weird seeing him with someone other than your mother.

I'd welcome him back in a heartbeat. No matter what his record, the players under him had the discipline that this team lacks now. Good coaches sometimes have to be tough and mean. It's how you keep people in line and make them assume responsibility for their actions on and off the field. I hate the inner and outer drama and lack of heart in this team under Tomlin, and I'd take the Chin over him any day.

Cowher is all about the running game, killing the clock, play to not lose zzzzzzzzzz. The league has turned into a passing one, he would have to change his way of thinking.

If Cowher comes back, I'm happy for him. I hate to see him coaching any team other than the Steelers, but I think he wants an NFC job and it would have to be the right job. Maybe he coach an NCAA team. I'm kind of shocked that he wants to come back he seemed very happy at CBS and the more free time that he had.
