We used to have a mud field when it rained at three rivers.

 

Me personally, the longer the football is in the rain, it eventually soaks into the leather and it is easier to catch.

I don’t know they are so concerned using footballs that aren’t broken in.

Are there advantages for a team that plays outdoors at home with adverse weather as opposed to a dome team or Miami coming in, certainly, but the weather yesterday was something you just have to deal with. Any advantage is simply thrown out when mother nature comes to town in that measure.

The OP asked a question that they think is valid. It appears the Steelers think it’s valid too as they’re adjusting their practice routine by taking it outside to the elements at the stadium. Hopefully it helps!

 

I think they need to practice on the penguins ice with water hoses spraying on them and large fans blowing on them they will get tough or get sick but if they all get hurt or sick I guess we forfeit(now doesn't that whole idea sound dumb)Only our rivals would want us doing that

I live locally I have seen on Tv team practicing on their outside fields many
times When it is cold out. I commend MT for doing this
to get players acclimated to cold conditions.
