So if I say the Steelers went 10-7 in the regular season that’s an opinion? might wanna rethink that statement.

The issue he is an edge rusher so all that weight trying to get around the corner, no way if its grade 3, lets hope they are wrong but usually the diagnosis is more optimistic not the other way around.

For what it is worth the local Pittsburgh news just had a blurb at the bottom of the screen saying “Steelers” believe it is a grade 3

Can this somewhat be determined without an MRI until the get one

No, just realistic. How many games have we won without TJ? Face it, the Steelers are nothing without TJ

TJ Watt seems to be an injury waiting to happen at least twice a season.

Maybe Pickens is on to something about looking to avoid injuries when you can.

That applies to the rest of this season too, especially so with all the other injuries on defense this year. Those 2 sacks by TJ probably won the game for us

Grade 3 can't be diagnosed without an MRI, which I'm pretty sure Baltimore doesn't have in stadium.

    Doesn't sound good though

If it was a grade 3 and they detected laxacity in the joint, would the team doctor let him walk around? I doubt it and Thea’s why I think the report of grade 3 tear is bogus.

I agree…if the MCL is torn, you’re more at risk of an ACL tear from something REALLY simple.

That's not what he was writing about. He was explaining how the medical personnel would test an injury like that and how clear the results can be with a specific test. It was an informative post, so no real reason for your snark.

You’re a true…shining beacon of….ill keep it clean. Now I’ll just put you on ignore and see my way out of this conversation. I don’t have to defend myself or my opinion to you.

Which explains why they need to be so careful with this. It would suck to have to go into a playoff game without him. It would be disastrous for him to blow out his ACL at this point and put his 2024 season in jeopardy.

If it's downgraded to a 1, will TJ possibly be able to play next week?

I read an article a few hours ago that said TJ wanted to come back into the game but the Steelers would not allow it. If he wanted back in, the injury will hopefully not keep him out if we make the playoffs.

This would be the second time our players took out one of their own. Holcomb got taken out by Neal and now Watt gets taken out by Adams

I had an MCL sprain about 4 years ago. Granted I'm 45. Took me a couple weeks just to walk normally again. TJ is on another level athletically no doubt, and has access to all the best treatments, but it's a painful injury and hard to work through, even if it's a grade 1.

The primary concern isn't the pain. It is the instability in the knee that could lead to an ACL tear. If there is any risk of that sort of injury, they can't let him play.

I guess the team owes him to make it to the Superbowl now so he can play again this season. ;)

    (yes. I'm a little drunk)

I didn't see how TJ left the stadium? Does anyone know if he made the plane ride back with the team tonight?

I would think JJ is going to be the first to actually release some real news via his twitter account. JJ seems to really like to post on twitter or X, or whatever the hell it is now.
