If this isn’t the dumbest talent evaluation I have no idea what is. I like that it didn’t seem to bother him but for goodness sakes at least design some plays for him with PA.

The kid is growing. It didn't bother him. He was still smiling and doing his job.

There are games like that for WR’s. Especially in this weather.

The raven's D coordinator stated that they weren't going to make that mistake again and changed how they played him. And it is difficult to know if he wasn't going to be a target on a few of our pass attempts that we had sacks on.

It's the way the game played out, and it's easier to be okay with it since the Steelers won. After the last two games that Pickens had with Mason as QB, I'm not surprised the Ravens tried to shut him down.

He was one on one a lot and didn’t even look his way. I’m glad he handled it like a pro though.

I’m glad. They would have got smoked though if the Rats were playing their starters.

There were opportunities to throw to Pickens. say what you want but that was clearly the game plan... Mason was looking for everyone but Pickens. I get it in theory , he will be doubled or tripled every deep route...so the others will be in single coverage. Problem was in the 2nd half it became very obvious and we saw Pickens running one on one and they were bringing safeties up to stop our run. we should have thrown him a couple deep balls , or at least a end zone pass when the opportunity was there.

Pulling him off the field essentially killed the play to Warren.

They had two guys on Picken. One man and one zone. The pass that Mason threw to Pickens that was broken up for near interception was due to this. Mason learned and stayed away.

Ravens took him outta the game. It happens every week to stud players.

That's what I noticed. The Ravens focused on taking him away and it was tough to counter that in the weather. Rudolph was smart to take what the defense did give him. They were also pretty conservative outside of a couple of throws, which makes sense in those conditions.

They said the ravens were double covering him and rolling a safety toward him. Then as a QB then you go after the one on one coverages. Smart play. Just like when Ju Ju got that benefit of AB being double teamed. Pickens has to learn to find that open spot but keep fighting and keep running routes hard since it ties up other defenders. Team game!! Now the OC has to design rubs or other techniques to break that double coverage or make it more difficult to employ, but that's on OC not QB.

Not a great day at the office but 18/20 for 157 was about what I expect for a game like this. Close one with terrible weather. It rained hard for 3 hours.

    Yes it can be frustrating
A true professional in a team sport realizes if the other team has to focus so much on their play and it opens or creates other winning options
    win/win

TJ creates this on defense but he is so fkn good he still finds a way to add to his "stats" if you will and make the play

Pickens will continue to learn this and when his number is called it's payday

Correct, the Ravens have smoked a lot of teams this year. They are better and the #1 seed for a reason.

The really "stud"players seem to get open and have an impact no matter what the defense does.

But the Steelers only won because the Ravens dropped passes.
