You saw how we played last two weeks. We'd have played like that and we would have smoked the Cards and Pats.

We ***** and moan but it's a good thing having a shot in week 18. There are fan bases whose teams have been out of it for weeks and it happens more often then not for a lot of teams. I couldn't imagine going years will the Steelers are out of it with weeks to go.

I think winning any of those games would have been enough for them to only need to win to be in.

I do appreciate that they have a meaningful game to play this weekend. I'm just annoyed that they left themselves needing help because they didn't show up prepared for consecutive games against 2-10 teams.

This is exactly the point! If the team overachieves and is in contention in week 18, then we will all be happy.

But the problem is that the team underachieves, because they lose to the loser teams who are eliminated in week 5, and we end up in this sucky situation, seemingly, year after year.

I think the 2-10 teams thing has been beat to death. Just have to deal with it now

I blame this Year on Trubisky, and the injuries.
Again 2nd in the league in injuries is a hard thing, and Trubisky sucks. Just remember when the Ravens (the team that most are saying are awesome) had that many injuries.....they finished last in the AFCN, and had no shot at the playoffs....just two years ago. People forget quickly.

They lost the last 6 games of the season to miss. They were 7-5 in games Lamar started (he was knocked out of a game they eventually lost to the Browns) then lost the remaining 4 games on the schedule to miss the playoffs. That was a team that likely made the playoffs pretty easily with Lamar playing. This is the downfall of having a dual threat QB. More opportunity for injury.

We have a team right now good enough to be the top team in the NFL (like the Ravens are right now) if we had a QB that was in the MVP discussion lol we just.... don't. Our team as a whole is good enough to win games, we just need more QB play like we've gotten from Mason the past two weeks and a lot less QB play like we got from Trubisky and Pickett in the previous 1.5+ seasons.

1st. We hurt Lamar Jackson in the game before the browns.
2nd. We are on our 3rd Qb....yet we still have a chance at the playoffs. So......I would say our coaching has been better dealing with losses this year than their coaching did that year.

Did we? I thought the first Ravens game (right before that Browns game) was the game where the Ravens scored late but failed the 2 point conversion. Lamar finished that game and was responsible for all the passes. Maybe he missed a few plays (all handoffs) and came back? I don't remember exactly. The second game was the final week and Huntley was in at that time.

We definitely have done a good job getting up through injuries (I feel like our ILB room and Secondary room have been beat up more than any other positions), but it certainly helps when the 3rd QB out performs the back up and starter. We've scored 30 points or more in each of the last two games, we did that only once in 2022 (loss to Bengals), once in 2021 (loss to Chargers), and 4 times in 2020 (loss to Browns in playoffs, wins vs. Browns, Eagles, and Bengals).

I'd say a lot of our recent offensive success has been because of the QB performance. Doesn't matter if its first string or 3rd string.

We are on our 3rd QB because our coaches are too sucky to realize Rudolph is in reality our 1st QB this season - that's no endorsement for our coaches.

In a bizarre way, it took an injury to *our* 1st QB this year to finally move past our 1st and 2nd QB and have Rudolph start at QB.

Seems like if it wasn't for an injury, our coaching staff would have stuck with the Pickett+Trub (i.e. Trub and his clone) and we'd already be out of playoffs.

Ravens got worst when they got injured means they started with their best players due to good coaching. Steelers *improving* when they got injured means the coaching sucks cause they started with not their best players.... think about it.

and the entire thread is why a lot of fans say its time for a change. Another place on my FB feed showed a comparison between the Ravens and Steelers since the MT/Harbaugh era started. It is impressive, and I understand the deep passions some may have, but comparing the fans contentment or lack there of with another team is ludicrous. It's not about winning seasons, the number of division flags we have...its not about the past. The last 10 years have been rough enough, the last 5 unsettling. Despite a 9-7 record and a chance for the play offs, except for a few games this team has been horrible in many games..wins and losses. because of how this ownership runs things its doubtful anything will change, but change is needed.

Trubisky isn't the reason the defense **** the bed in those three consecutive losses. He was bad against he Patriots, but damn, 18 points should have been enough to beat a historically-bad offense.

I fixed this for you, "It happened this year because Tomlin kept playing Trubisky!"
