Teams will eventually send blitzes at him, flush him out of the pocket, he’s good at stepping up into the pocket, send the blitz up the middle, they will also try to confuse him with zone. Then we’ll see how he responds.

All of these threads debating and splitting hairs on which of the 3 backup QBs the steelers have is better is just plain ridiculous. They all suck and none of them are going to lead the steelers to the promise land.

You didn't mockingly throw anything,,, what you did was avoid the obvious, which is Mason Rudolph is better than Kenny Pickett... You fail to acknowledge how much better this offense looks with Rudolph at QB & you don't bcuz of a personal agenda... The difference is if Pickett was better I would say so,,, that's what makes u a FANBOY,,, lack of objectivity... It's fn hilarious that you accuse others of this... lol

The difference is if Pickett were better than Rudolph I would want Pickett to play... That's what makes you a fanboy... Maybe he will grow into it but if you cannot admit at this point that Rudolph is better than you lack objectivity...

Did Mason get cast to the side just because Myles Garrett accused him of saying something racist.

I will still stand by my opinion that Rudolph was not given a fair shot at the starting job against Trubisky and Pickett. I cannot believe how many totally disregard the knockout concussion Rudolph suffered. He played well up to that point. Admittedly I do not know his full diagnosis after the concussion, but believe he was rushed back sooner than he should have. Aside from Rudolph's current "hot hand," I'm sure the coaches are being careful not to rush Kenny back from his ankle surgery. I've shared many times that I believe Trubisky was brought in to force Rudolph to compete for the QB1 spot, prior to knowing they Pickett was falling to #20 in the draft. Rudolph showed up and outplayed Trubisky in the preseason (two years in a row). Yet, he was still relegated to QB3. Trubisky was gifted the starting job in 2022 so that would allow Kenny additional time to prepare. There was no question they wanted their first round draft pick to start rather than sit on the bench. Sadly, Mason could do nothing right for some so-called fans. He started the Pre-season games Ben's last year (2021) and they were not a scoring machine. Mason was knocked for not having the ability. During the 2022 Pre-season he played very well and was knocked for going against 3rd stringers while ignoring the fact that he was beating those 3rd stringers with our own 3rd stringers and many who may not even be in the NFL this year. I've stated in another post, I agree, two games is a small sampling to determine if it should be Rudolph. However, Mason also did not play a large enough sample to determine he is not the answer.

I just want to say thank you Philo because if you wouldn't have invented the TV a hundred years ago we wouldn't be able to watch the Steelers every week.

It’s absolutely incredible to me that there are those who feel that Rudolph has gotten a fair shot to be QB1 for the Steelers since he was drafted. Utter hogwash! His development has been hindered from day one when diva Ben started acting like a middle school mean girl toward Mason and neither Randy Fichtner nor Mike Tomlin had the nads to do a dang thing about it for fear of offending our franchise quarterback. That coaching staff let Ben do his thing and left Mason to fend for himself. He had a tumultuous season filling in for Ben, showed a lot of promise at times and struggled at other times like young quarterbacks do. He had a serious concussion that impacted him more than we realize and we’re not talking about just hitting his head hard on the field and having go to the medical tent to be checked out, we’re talking about a full-blown knockout where he was lying on the field unconscious for what seemed like an eternity. He probably should have been carted off the field but inexplicably got up and walked off the field with some help from teammates and staff. Then later in the year he was clubbed over the head by a race baiting liar on national television and then had his character assassinated by the same idiot in the weeks that followed. Rudolph was a kid! And then the Steelers decide to sweep him under the rug and forget all about him at that point even though he had sufficient talent that, if properly developed, should’ve allowed him to be an adequate NFL quarterback! Then they bring in the hot free agent and the golden boy from next door and he becomes an afterthought and was NEVER given a fair shot to win the job. I don’t understand why in the world there are those who can’t see that MIKE TOMLIN AND THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS ORGANIZATION HAVE ABSOLUTELY BOTCHED THIS YOUNG MAN’S CAREER!!!

I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Rudolph these past 2 games, but some folks are getting carried away.

Do you think Tomlin, his coaching staff and the organization have handled Mason’s career appropriately? I don’t. And they’ll probably botch Kenny’s career before it’s over too!

I don’t think any injustice was done to Rudolph by the team. It remains to be seen if the team misjudged his potential.

I don’t know that it was intentional, but I don’t think they’ve adequately managed his career thus far and that is an injustice to Mason.

Maybe I am overreacting. Maybe this is just an overly enthusiastic response to finally being able to watch a Steelers game and actually enjoy the quarterback play and offensive performance after nearly two full years of absolutely crappy performance from our other two quarterbacks. I’ve always liked Mason and felt that he had the talent to be a good NFL quarterback and I still believe that. He’s not Terry or Ben but I think if he’s got a good supporting cast and good defense he can win some games for you like he’s done the last couple of weeks. Hope that continues. :beg:

No freaking way it was intentional. They Had a HOF Qb for many Years, and Mason wasn't that.....so they thought.....We must get better, but.....in trying to get better as an organization they got worse in Trubisky, and a rookie that may turn out good, but isn't there yet. It wasn't on purpose, but when You spend money on a FA Qb, and a 1st round pick Qb trying to get better.....the 3rd string isn't going to see a lot of opportunities. It business... I don't believe any of it was done with malicious design. They tried getting better, and failed. Now KFP getting hurt, and Trubisky being Trubisky has allowed Mason to play. Now remember....I'm the guy who has been wanting Mason to play since Ben left....., but now....if Mason stays it will be a real Qb competition, and that's all I ask.

Unbelievably no one charged the battery on the cart that was to wheel him off the field so Rudolph had to walk after being knocked out cold. It must have been that same damn intern that listed Rudolph as the backup and Kenny third string on the official depth chart.

I'm retired from the Patent Office so I am well aware of Farnsworth. He got the idea of vertical and horizontal lines when he was plowing his father's field and noticed the heat rising up from the plowed furrowed lines in the field.
